I'm not opposed to breast cancer awareness month and all the pink being paraded around the NFL. But, why choose to support breast cancer research?
CDC latest statistics on death by cancer:
40,931 women and 443 men in the United States died from breast cancer
86,736 men and 70,217 women (156,953 people) died from lung cancer
26,804 men and 24,979 women (51,783 people) died from colorectal cancer
27,970 men in the United States died from prostate cancer
There are more people dying from colorectal cancer than breat cancer. There are more people dying from lung cancer than breast cancer.
Why are they choosing to support breast cancer research? Is it because the NFL wants to "support" something to lure more women viewers? Do the players just have a thing for the color pink?
