Carl's Jr. continues with the high volume protein craze!

Hardee's will be expanding into the DC area soon, can't wait!

FAIRFAX, Va., July 16 (UPI) -- A fast food chain that gave America the 1,400 calorie Monster Burger says it is introducing a new foot-long cheeseburger with three patties and cheese slices.

Carl's Jr. restaurants in Southern California and Hardee's in Indiana are testing the new foot-long burger that weights in at 850 calories with 20 grams of saturated fat, USA Today reported Friday.

If it's a hit in testing, it could be sold at the sister chains' outlets nationwide within three to six months, Carl's Jr. marketing chief Brad Haley says.

The foot-long item joins similar offerings from other fast-food chains like Subway, Sonic and Quiznos, an industry analyst says.

"We live in a society that's fascinated with all things big," says Scott Hume, editor of BurgerBusiness.com, an industry trade site. "It's inherently American to push for something bigger and better than anyone else has."

The new offering from Carl's Jr. is clearly a response to the wild success of Subway's $5 sub sandwiches, Hume said.

"Subway is taking 'share of stomach' from the burger places, too," Hume says.

Carl's Jr. is eager to aim the new sandwich at its core customers, young men ages 18 to 24.

"Obviously, the foot-long sandwich has been very successful at Subway," Haley said. "But we decided to do it the Carl's way."

Tigerstyle/eesh posted a Snickers bar in reference to Harry Tuttle.

There is connotation here, referring to Harry Tuttle's old screenname of Trebor SNICKA, aka Dwight.

PWNED!!

Lol, I'm gonna go ahead and say with 100% confidence that neither the real Trebor Snicka nor the real Dwight have ever seen the movie Brazil.

The Harry Tuttle screenname is a reference to a plumber that helped him out of a spot of trouble.

Yeah, but you know it won't look that appealing in real life. See below, for example.

Yeah, it looks like something you'd feed a dog.

I think that's a pretty enlightening graphic. Ads always look 50x better than what they actually serve.

That's because most of the "food" in advertisements aren't really food. The meat, cheese, toppings, and bun are plastic or sponges, and the sauces are some sort of glue.

Plus, each one is painstakingly decorated by a professional artist instead of some kid who doesn't give a shit about your food.

Fast food is so vile. On those rare occasions where I eat something like that, I feel as if I need a shower when I'm done.

I'd skin a man alive for a Grilled Stuffed Chicken Burrito from Taco Bell right now.

I met a wwoman on a plane once who told me she "had a friend" who was a commercial photographer. She said that a lot of the food you see in ads isn't even food at all, it's like perfectly painted ceramics and models.

I thought it was common knowledge that all of that commercial food is fake.

They can get away with that now? It used to be whatever being sold had to be genuine. So you could have fake milk (glue) but the cereal had to be real.

When you're paying five dollars for it, and it's something you're just going to eat anyways, who really cares about how it looks in comparison?

The advertised photos are all fake food anyway, and they utilize glue to hold it all perfectly in place.

If anyone goes over to Europe, the fast food chains are way nicer than over here. The Mcdonalds are squeaky clean, the employees are all clean cut, and the food is actually appetizing. The sodas taste richer over there too.

Yes, the Hamburger Royale is waaaay better than the Quarter Pounder.
