No, it hasn't. The job creation isn't keeping up with those entering the labour force and the majority of the jobs being created are low paying or part time. The rest of the "recovery" has disproportionately benefited those at the top.

Gas prices have risen because a conflict in an oil rich region has given petroleum companies an excuse to raise prices. They did the same thing during the Libyan revolution despite the fact that US doesn't import any or hardly any oil from Libya.
