right on. led zeppelin also just released I II and III remastered with a ton of bonuses if you pay up for it. just the records and its only like 20 bucks.

I get skeptical about older bands but the last DP album sounded surprisingly good. Ian Gillan's voice is still awesome and whoever the new keyboardist is he cops that Jon Lord DP sound pretty well.

I hope it pissed off Blackmore that the band still sounds like DP even without him. He's a great guitarist but he's comes off as a giant ass.

Blackmore is an ass. I saw him play a few years ago and he ranted at the audience the entire show and basically acted like a dick. He looked pissed the whole time and was playing a bunch of cover songs. The crowd jeered him a few times and then right in the middle of "Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude" he stormed off the stage and ended the show. People were booing, he charged like 60 bucks a ticket for that shit. What a douche.

I really don't think Ritchie cares at all about how good or bad Purple does.
He's put all that way behind him.

I've met a few people who've known Blackmore pretty well, and they all say he was a good guy. He just never did the whole rock star thing when he wasn't on stage. He never did drugs or smashed hotel rooms. After gigs, he liked to be alone and have a few drinks. Even people he sacked don't seem to dislike him.

If you listen to his interviews, he has a great sense of humor. Ritchie has always outsmarted Deep Purple. He knew when to quit and he knew that he would look foolish trying to rock out on stage in his old age. He seems to really enjoy his life and he has a pretty hot wife.

He closed the show with a real rockin version of 'Cheeseburger in Paradise' when I saw him. It totally kicked ass.
