Who Should we Blame? Bush?
Posted by: Debbie Downer Democrat XXXX ()

OK, let me get this straight. Bloomberg news has a great article today on how the world's debt has now broken the $100 Trillion dollar level.

Also, within the article is a great little tid-bit on the U.S. as follows:

"Marketable U.S. government debt outstanding has surged to a record $12 trillion, up from $4.5 trillion at the end of 2007, according to U.S. Treasury data compiled by Bloomberg. Corporate bond sales globally jumped during the period, with issuance totaling more than $21 trillion, Bloomberg data show."

** Since late 2007, our debt has gone up from $4.5 Trillion dollars to $12 Trillion dollars. Doing the math, Bush was only in the office for one of those years. However, Obama has been in office over 5 years.

++ Discuss.

*** Gerry can't mention Bush's name in any of his responses as that will hurt his credibility beyond how bad it has been hurt to date.

It occurred to me that Gerrymanderer2 is actually Far Right troll, posting his incessant and inane attacks on all things conservatice, and Bush in particular, in order to generate more input from conservatives.

I don't think so. When you have so many contard trolls, it's only a matter of time before a libtard troll comes along to play.

Gerry, you're being silly. The article I posted was from Bloomberg and was just posted yesterday. Instead of making your best attempt to honestly answer the question about the run up in the debt over the past 5 years, you then call us right-wingers and dodge the question?

That figures. Just another one of your moves. When you can't or won't provide an answer that will incriminate the person that you describe as the best president ever, you run and hide.

Nothing but Chicken Sh**.

There's nothing serious here. Blame Bush shit with a bunch of stupid pictures reflecting anger from idiots that don't have any credibility they can reference.

The deficit has dropped tremendously and we are 450 billion dollars away from a balanced budget. The American people know this. We need to close some tax loop holes and bring the effective corporate tax rate up from an unfair 12.6 percent coupled with a little bit of entitlement reform in the short term.

Such an agreement would probably bring about investment and economic stimulus as well which will put us on an even better footing.

The problem is Republicans won't negotiate on these unfair corporate tax rates. The president has talked about capping social security with chained CPI and is being attacked as we speak for cutting Medicare hundred of billions of dollars by Republicans with Obama Care.

You're not serious fucking people and all you can do is make stupid fucking title with an article about the debt and politicize what is a problem Americans are well aware of.

Without providing any solutions as usual. It's not worth the time or the effort to even engage you people.

The thing is you wouldn't have the balls to cut Medicare or Social Security if you had 100% power across all the branches. You still wouldn't do it. You're cowards that are unwilling to come to grips with the nations problems.

You have always used driving up the debt as the politically convenient thing to do. Whether it be waging wars and passing tax breaks at the same time and telling the American people deficits don't matter.

No one knows what a Republican wants to do about anything. No one ever knows what a Republican wants other than power.

All you have to do is look at all the Republicans attacking the president for cutting Medicare and you know they are not serious about anything and stand for nothing.

What are we doing here? Republicans are a fucking joke.

In 2001, the national debt Bush inherited was around $5.7T, give or take. Some of that debt in 2001 has to be attributed to Clinton, just as some of the debt in 2009 when Obama took office has to be attributed to Bush. When W. left office in 2009, the debt was nearly $11T. That's an increase of 89 percent.

Under Obama, the debt has increased from about $11T to about $17T, about 54 percent.

And what's behind that increase? Historically low taxes and historically low revenues -- and the worst financial crash since the 1930s. There's been no "binge" in spending, as many want you to believe.

Gerry,

Also, please read the WHOLE article on Bloomberg. The world's debt is $100 Trillion dollars. The $17 Trillion is just America's slice of the pie.

To put it another way, America just has a few levels on the good ship Titanic. The rest of the world occupy different floors too. When the Titanic goes down, America will go ... as well as many other countries.

Even if we stop using the dollar as the "standard" for basing all world trade on, as well as oil prices, etc., the new "standard" - be it something from China? The EU? -- will be very short-lived. It will not be the trading benchmark for very long. When the whole world goes into a depression, America will just be one of the dingleberries handing from the ass of the whole world.

However, as a final comment, I just want to add that yes, previous presidents have added to our national debt - including Bush. But, I think we have to send one final "shout out" to president Obama who has pushed the "turbo" button to increase the speed of America heading towards the cliff.

Hang on ... it's going to be a wild ride. Even the jack arse economist, Paul Krugman from the New York Times can't wiggle around this one. He can't lie about this issue to cover Obama's back like he always has. When the big one comes, Krugman will be the first to leap off of a New York high-rise.

Don't show this to Gerry, he still thinks Obama's doing a great job on budget deficits.

You mean that $716 Billion dollar theft of funds from Medicare to fund Obamacare? That same $716 Billion dollars that Mitt Romney mentioned during the campaign and where Mitt was called a liar? That same money?

Even the Washington Post was able to pick up on that one:
