How about just get rid of the stupid extra point altogther? But then the TV networks would get mad because that's a perfect time to flood us with commercials.

I always thought they should change it so that the person who scored the TD had to kick the extra point. That would add an interesting touch to the game, I'm sure some of these RB's and receivers would be terrible kickers.

The rule change I always wanted was for at least 3 players play both offense and defense.

After each touchdown all the players from both teams, the coaches, and the refs should have to run onto the field and play 20 minutes of Smear the Queer. Kicker for the scoring team takes the ball and starts running and all hell breaks loose.

Getting rid of the extra point kick is a dumb idea. The kick makes a touchdown worth more than two field goals which encourages teams to be more aggressive in the red zone.

The problem isn't that getting the extra point kick has become too automatic. The problem is that there isn't enough of a point differential to encourage teams to do something other than kick. Move back to the 5 and then give a team that runs or passes 3 points rather than 2 and I suspect more teams will be taking a chance on doing something other than kicking.
