Why is this even news? The Dems do this all the time and nobody calls them out on it. No investigations, etc.

Nothing to see here, move along.

If you want to discuss something real, how about the witch hunt they're doing on Gov. Christie? I don't care for the guy, but damn, all those liberal prosecutors are overstepping their bounds and working double over-time in order to pull him out of the race with Hillary. Who's behind all of it? Those most faithful to Hillary? Yup.

Republicanism is based on defrauding people against their economic interests beholden to the rich. It is an ideology of cheating others to enrich yourself.

Of course you'll see massive amounts of corruption and criminality associated with such a culture.

I'm not surprised with the indictments one after another. I'm surprised with how much they get away with.

Two Virginia businessman were sentenced today for illegally funneling contributions to Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential bid by reimbursing donations to her campaign with corporate money.

William P. Danielczyk, Jr. was sentenced to 28 months in prison and ordered to pay a $50,000 fine, according to the FBI. Eugene R. Biagi, 78, was sentenced to two months’ probation for aiding Danielczyk’s scheme.

Danielczyk was the chairman of Galen Capital Corporation and Biagi served as the corporation’s secretary. The chairman hosted a Senate fundraiser for Clinton in 2006 and another fundraiser for her presidential bid in 2007.

He covered the tracks of $186,600 in campaign donations by noting the reimbursement checks as “consulting fees” and even creating back-dated letters to the contributors giving that impression. At least one donor also received a $1,500 bonus to keep up the charade.

“The campaigns unwittingly reported them as lawful contributions from the individual ‘straw donors,’” the FBI said.

The FBI today made no mention of Clinton as the candidate the pair supported.

Danielczyk and Biagi tried arguing to the Supreme Court that part of their indictment violated the Citizens United ruling and that they were exercising free speech by making corporate campaign donations.

The Supreme Court rejected their appeal without comment in February.

Clinton supporter suspected of illegal donations
By Alan SudermanBen Wieder 6:00 am, July 12, 2013

Employees of a Washington, D.C.-based accounting firm that federal prosecutors called an “assembly line for illegal campaign contributions” donated more than $500,000 to federal candidates and committees over the past 10 years, including nearly $50,000 to Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, according to a Center for Public Integrity review of records.

An employee and a consultant for the firm, formerly run by Jeffrey Thompson, pleaded guilty last month in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to making so-called straw donations to several federal and D.C. campaigns. The two men — Lee Calhoun and Stanley Straughter — made donations in their names and their family members’ names and were then reimbursed by Thompson or his firm, Thompson, Cobb, Bazilio & Associates.

The charges stem from a federal investigation of the 2010 campaign of Washington, D.C., Mayor Vincent Gray. At the center of the probe is Thompson, who has been implicated by prosecutors as the financier of an illegal, off-the-books $650,000 “shadow campaign” that federal prosecutors say helped get Gray elected.

An analysis of campaign finance records provided by the Center for Responsive Politics found that Thompson and other donors who listed the accounting firm as their employer have given at least $514,350 to federal candidates and political action committees since the 2002 campaign cycle, including $36,900 from Calhoun, the employee who pleaded guilty last month.

The biggest beneficiary of those funds was former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whose campaigns took in $50,400. Clinton’s presidential campaign committee received $40,300 from employees at Thompson’s firm in November 2007, when she attended an intimate fundraiser at the company’s headquarters in downtown D.C., according to three people who were at the event.

Other recipients include President Barack Obama ($14,500 in the 2008 cycle), former Democratic presidential candidate and Secretary of State John Kerry ($20,000 in the 2004 cycle), former Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain ($13,800 in the 2008 cycle) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid ($9,600 in 2009).

Thompson himself made political contributions totaling at least $215,000 in that same period.

Clinton accused of illegal fundraising

By KENNETH P. VOGEL | 10/31/07 2:04 PM EDT

...The stories dovetailed with the Clinton campaign’s refunding more than $800,000 in donations solicited — or bundled — by Norman Hsu, who used his influence in Asian-American circles to help raise millions for Democrats, all while he was considered a fugitive from a 15-year old grand theft conviction.

The Los Angeles Times looked at 150 donations made to Clinton after fundraising events targeting the Chinese community. It had trouble tracking down many donors.

Most had not registered to vote, many held low-paying jobs that would make it difficult to scrounge together cash for political contributions and some said they said they were instructed to give by community leaders, the paper reported.

A cook in New York’s Chinatown neighborhood told the New York Post she was reimbursed for her $1,000 contribution to Clinton, a senator from New York.

Federal election laws prohibit donors to be reimbursed for donations or to allow others to give on their behalf.

Is it really? Seriously, how many checks did you write to Al Gore? If you want to talk about defrauding people, why look any further than the hoaxes that Al Gore has used to line his own pockets. It's a shame that you can't see that crimes get committed besides people other than just Republicans. Then again, you don't live in reality.

Why did the DOJ target this person? Why did they take him out in cuffs? Why did they make him surrender his passport and have to post $500,000 bail to get released?

Simple. It's all due to the unfortunate act of speaking out against the president. Such activity will put you on the hit list. The same appears to be happening in Hollywood where the "Friends of Abe" conservatives are being targeted by the IRS and other policing agencies of the current administration.

There's like five prominent Republicans either under indictment, facing charges or under federal and state investigations right now.

It's a culture of bullshit corruption and cocksucking idiotic followers.

If you think the other party has a monopoly on crooks you're not being honest with yourself. If you think the other party is only in it for personal gain but your party is in it for the good of mankind, you are either delusional or stupid. All political parties and politicians are there only for their own benefit. It's a waste of time to try to one up someone based on how ethical your party/politician is; it's a game no one can win.

Thanks Eric Holder!

They just get better selective press. I'm sure if you look you can find 5 Dems to match. We just locked Jesse Jr. up. The mayor of San Diego is done. They're still investigating Terry and Hillary's bro.

Better selective process? Was the D.C. Police that pulled over the Republican Coke Head that resigned today sent by Eric Holder too?

Republicans are starting to sound like criminals, blaming law enforcement for their crimes.

You still wrote "Thanks Eric Holder" which basically means your are referring to a "better selective process" or biased implementation of the law motherfucker.

The point stands in response to the comment.

GerBear,

It's a non-story and isn't going to happen.

Holder has much better things to do than investigate himself.
