Cup A Joe

So, thanks, fagits, for your help with my POV camera purchase.

So, I bought the Drift Ghost-S, despite some nagging concerns... customer service being one of them.

Now I'm looking at coffee makers.

So, do any of you fags love your coffee maker?

Is the Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-2600CH any good?

And, what about these grind and brew thermal thingamajigs? They seem pretty expensive.

Do coffee lovers desire the grinding feature?

So, I don't drink coffee except for those Cafe Vanilla Frappuccinos at Starbucks, with EXTRA whipped cream, so I don't know shit about coffee makers.

I've got the best coffee maker, it cost me a pretty penny, but it makes the best cuppa for me every morning. It takes these little round disc looking plastic packages (which aren't cheap either) to make each drink and you can choose how much milk you want to put in it, if you want it foamed or steamed, it's timer is really easy to work and even has a feature you can select to have it off on holidays. It's seriously great, and yes, I do love it.

You wanna know which one it is?

Alias, calling people faggots or "fagits" will not get you many positive responses. I know this is difficult for you to understand.

Also, I doubt that you bought an action camera, what would you possibly use it for?

About the coffee maker, since you are near the Sur la Table at Stony Point, I suggest you go there and shop.

The brew & grind things suck. They don't necessarily have to suck but for the most part they do and overall just not that great. Better to get a separate grinder.

If you want something convenient, then get the Keurig. That's the best single-cup brewer as far as the selection of coffee. All of the single-cup brewers are kind of expensive to run though unless you search out sales. They also have a new "Rivo" which has a lot of features as far as milk-type drinks but it's expensive for what it is and even more expensive to run and doesn't really seem to be catching on like the K-Cup brewer did.

If you want the best up of coffee, then get a french press. That said, it's kind of a pain in the ass to have to go through all the time just for a cup of coffee.

Then you have the standard drip brewers like the Cuisinart. The main difference will be in capacity, features, heated plate or thermal pot, things like how they're filled, whether they leak, etc. Unless you have a family of people, I like the smaller capacity ones since you don't waste as much coffee and it's hard to get a good cup out of most unless you make a pot.

Then you have the espresso makers which is another world in itself.

Thank you, Juan. That was a concise and easy to understand review of the coffee making options.

So, the Keurig is the way to go for the single cup, but if you want a pot, maybe the Cuisinart?

Damn, now I see the need for both.... shit, damn, penis.

I don't quite understand. I do a lot of drinkin. We drink A LOT of coffee and frappe. I have a lot of people asking us and telling us they want us to take them with or wish they could do that. So i say lets go do it then. Two of the biggest replies i get is: 1 I don't have time. 2 I don't have the money. OK These same fuckin people have time to sit for hours in a starbucks not to mention paying for drinks. Well let me tell you a secret. GET YOUR SORRY ASSES OFF THE STARBUCKS save money and time by doing that and what do you know you now have time and money to go drinkin!! Its up to you what you prefer to do. ITS AN AWESOME PLACE OUTSIDE STARBUCKS. If you really wanted to go the choice is up to you. Think about what you spend in starbucks. The time thats wasted not to mention paying for drinks. I know a lot of people that revolve their sorry ass lives around starbucks. EVERYTHING THEY DO ENVOLVES DRINKING. I got one thing to tell you. While you people revolve your asses around starbucks. WERE HAVING A GREAT TIME TOGETHER. DRINKING FRESH BREWED COFFEE AND HANGING OUT! ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE OUT THERE!!

Keurigs work good in an office setting where people want decaf or different strengths and flavors, but I think they are way over-rated for home use. If you're brewing single cups, buy a french press. It's simple and makes much better coffee than any appliance. No cords, easy to store and keep clean. People always rave about a the different kcup flavors, but that's only if you want to stock 4 or 5 boxes of different crap in your cupboard, and they're not exactly cheap either. Just buy small quantities of different kinds of beans and use the French press. If you want coffee that tastes like cinnamon or mocha, you don't need those silly kcups. Just add cinnamon or mocha to your coffee, it ain't rocket science.

In my office we've essentially had every type of coffee supply there is:

- Keurig
- traditional coffee maker
- get your own at Sbux

Given that the company was paying we eventually settled on Keurig. Why?

- traditional coffee maker: cheapest option by far considering you can make a pot of coffee for about $2 from a bag of ground coffee from Safeway or wherever. The downside is that you can make only one pot (read: flavor) at a time. So if you're office mates like french vanilla dingleberry and you're more a hazelnut kind of person, you'll have to wait.

- get your own at Sbux: most expensive option at $1.70 - $2.70 per cup for regular joe depending on size and where you buy it; and you need to get off your ass, go down the street (either walk or drive, again depending on where you work), wait in line, order and come back. IMHO, the best flavor b/c they've made the process so its hard for even the Woman's Studies majors turned baristas can't fuck it up.

- Keurig: a little trendy feeling but probably the best value in a setting with more than one coffee drinker and tastes. Depending on where you buy and which flavor of k-cups you get they can run between $0.75 and $1.40 per cup: way more expensive than coffee maker, much less expensive than Sbux. Plus, everyone can enjoy their own flavor.

That said, for home use, the traditional coffee maker is still going to be your best bet in terms of price, quantity, and convenience.

If you're paying that much, then you're doing it wrong.

A good price for the K-Cups is in the 30 - 35 cent range bought on sale. Costco, Staples on sale with their coupons, Amazon's warehouse, some of the house brands on sale at the grocery store, etc.

You can pay the higher amounts just buying off the shelf.

Starbucks has that new coffee maker that is slightly cheaper than the Kuerig.

The Verismo, looks more upscale than the Kuerig.

I have a kuerig and its fine for the weekend.

On work days, I support the economy and buy my cup of coffee at starbucks.

I only drink coffee though but just a cup at a time so a pot of coffee isn't useful for me since I don't want to spend my day going through a pot of coffee. I am also the only coffee drinker in the household.

No need for fancy coffee machines, I use an entire quart of water and a horn siphon. It has an airlock on the end and one of those bulbs to pump air through it so that it forces the hot water into the antechamber. it comes out really good.

Alias could never afford to have something like that in her home. And her kitchen is probably so stacked up with old pizza boxes and empty beer bottles, she'd have no place to put it.

That is a poor way to make coffee.

If I asked you for suggestions on a new toilet, would you tell me your outhouse is better?

It's not for me; it's a gift, so it won't be in my home.

I don't drink coffee. Shit, don't you know anything about me?

I don't drink beer. Don't you know this by now?

The only thing you got right was the pizza.
