Aside from embarrassment its also a bad decision. A lot of technology advancements have come from the space program.

SpaceX and other private companies will pick up NASA's slack. Besides, we really never had a space program of our own......the foundation for NASA's technology all came from Nazi research (Project Paperclip.)

The US could always bioengineer a virus that only targets the Han Chinese genome. Israel was rumored to have been researching a virus that would only affect those with Arabic ethnicity.
Release that virus into Beijing, Shanghai, Macau, and Hong Kong....no more superpower.

What do you mean it's not complete? I thought it was. They just deployed it when the US, Japan and South Korea did a joint air exercise over the disputed territories of the Senkaku areas and in the East China Sea?

Moral decay is the reoccurring constant of nations (or empires or societies) that fall. Either they are conquered by stronger nations or they rot and fall on their own. Since the good old United State of America has many enemies who would love to push us off the cliff, our internal rot will make us weaker soon so the fall will come quicker. It is relevant to this discussion because China has been lining up dominoes for decades that will hasten our demise. If they want the moon, we can't do anything about it. They are annexing islands from Japan and there's nothing we can do about it. We are toast. That's all I'm saying. Relax, watch the Skins flail about, watch porn on the Interwebz. It's all good......till it's not. By then, you won't know what hit us.
