All the Rage: Flavor Crystals

I've noticed that flavor crystals (or sand) are being added to lots of stuff these days.

First they were only in gum and mints, but now they're in soap, shampoo, face washing stuff and even ice cream.

Where will it end?

It's true... all that stuff is just flavored sand... it's tasty glass. You just poop it right out... Yet, somehow, it's more healthy than sugar...

Why do they put it in shampoo? Is it for exfoliation?

This soap has them too, but they refer to them as "Purifying Grains"
