The media is overhyping the impact of the shutdown to scare the Pubs. It's not even a full shutdown and most people will get paid once it's over. It just shifts spending from one month to the next. This is the normal soft period before Xmas and after Back-to-Schoo.

I think Obama is using the Senate in the same way the Republicans try to use the Tea Party. He tries to appear reasonable and flexible while using the Senate to knock down House proposals.

Sorry Lester but I know about 7 people that are currently forced to take vacation leave (of which they get 2 weeks a year) or take unpaid leave.

They will not get back pay since they have been cut off from servers, the building and email.

They are losing money everyday the government is shutdown.
