Presidents and their proper names
Posted by: Ellipsis ()

As the presidency in this country has assumed almost-monarchical power, it is right that the presidents now be styled as monarchs.

I propose that they be referred to by their first names, followed by an ordinal (I, XVIII, LXXII (the current record), etc.) and optionally a cognomen describing their achievement (or lack thereof).

Abraham I the Kinslayer
Woodrow I the Oathbreaker
Franklin II the Lame (or possibly, the Red)
John III the Slain
Richard I the Liar
Jimmy I, or the Peanut King
William IV the Fornicator
George III the Tyrant
Barack I the Kenyan

and finally

Warren I the Good

Finally somthing entertaining and not overtly racist from ellipsis.. I had a good chuckle.

Thanks, and keep up the positive output.

Nice one.

Also, William II was also 'the Slain'.

William III was William Howard Taft. Why do you prefer the styling "the Taxer" versus "the Fat"?

Also, I think I prefer the styling Theodore the Vigorous, instead of "the Energetic".

Actually, both are applicable since Taft instituted the first Federal tax on LLCs. One percent but enough to get that damned camel's nose into the tent.

Taft wasn't the first to impose an income tax. An income tax was imposed on individuals during Lincoln's administration to help fund the Civil War. I believe the tax was subsequently declared unconstitutional.

C'mon Bill, Taft worked hard to have the 16th amendment ratified, allowing for federal income tax.

Amendment XVI
"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."
