my infamous comp speakers are heading to the shitter. just curious as to what was out on the market. if you have some after market computer speakers, what kind, how do you mostly use them, how do they work for you? i like to blast music occasionally with a good amount of bass. let me know whats up.

this is what i have now

i would like to pay no more than 200.

so you are suggesting it would be cheaper to buy a stereo with speakers and connecting cable than to just buy speakers?

No... if you're going to buy a good stereo, it will be way more expensive than buying some computer speakers...

I've bought four stereo amps at thrift stores for less than 50 bucks each. Pioneer, JVC and two Kenwood. I've seen speakers there but always questioned how many times they'd been abused. Yard sales are much better places to find speakers that haven't been ridden hard and put away wet. Especially moving sales where the people are forced to downsize. I picked up 4 Pioneer speakers from the late 70's with very low milage on them for $25 at an estate sale.

And they'll blow any of the plastic shit offered for computers away.

You may still want to invest in computer sound since only you know if space is a consideration. All I can add there is that Bose has a varied line. Cheap to very expensive. The cheap sound okay at lower volume. Never owned the higher priced stuff though.

One of these days I'm gonna have to get a good amplifier and speaker system for my computers - for YEARS I've had very-high-quality sound cards that put out 5 channel sound (at least) yet continue to just use plain old ten-buck self-amplified stereo computer speakers...dumb.

Of course, if I =do= do that then I'm gonna have to splurge for another monitor, a pair of CH foot pedals, a CH Pro Throttle and a CH Pro Flightstick and get back into flight-sims in a major way.

Maybe that's why I haven't...

Conie only knows about these speakers because it was expressly written into the divorce agreement by her shit stain husband that the "Magnepan NG20.1 speakers" convey to him.

i know how to hook a microphone up to a computer so I can sing/rap, etc. and put my rhymes on wax. it's actually not that hard to do, and it's alot of fun.

I have an electronic whistle that i hook up to my PC and it makes a very powerful sirening noise, and then i also use one of the keys to create an intense power-clap. it's not even that hard to do, and alot of fun..

You could always get these:

Re: Computer Speakers With Sub Woof
Posted by: dark penis ()
Date: August 16, 2011 07:36PM

In order:

Logitech z5500

Logitech z5300

Logitech Z906

Logitech z506

55s are hands down the best speakers period. Unfortunately, Logitech no longer manufacturers them, the 906s are supposed to be the replacement.

53s are the next best speakers, no longer manufactured, the 506s are the replacement.

You could go the ebay route and see if the 55s or the 53s are available, otherwise it's the 906s or 506s.

55s retailed for around 400 years ago. I've had mine for about 8 or 9 years now. They are some bad ass speakers, thx certified.
