The Road to Hell is paved with . . .

The New Deal
Union Labor
The Great Society
Abandonment of Manufacturing for the "Service Economy"
NAFTA
Outsourcing; Offshoring
Refusal of US Govt to enforce Immigration law

And here we are in the toilet

Yep. We’ve been in the toilet for about 40 years. The flush is slow.

I guess I should remind you that the worst economic crisis in our country's history, the Great Depression, was caused by the Republicans' laissez faire policies. The kind of policies they advocated up to our current financial crisis.

Is this really the position of the Libertarian Party? Would they truly be against the right of workers to organize and bargain with management? Libertarians believe in a dog eat dog economy? And if they do...why would they be afraid to compete internationally? As far a road to hell...I think we are so far removed from the pre-depression hell created by unbridled capitalism/industrialization we no longer no what hell is! When challenged by undereducated immigrants we cry foul..when as McSame suggests the stock markets collapse we cry foul!

The greates irony of all this which is suggested by our libertarians is that with this latest fianacial crisis..the republikan party has brought our federal govt into unprescedented aspects of our finacial lives. Between thi9s crisis and the phony protection afforded us by Patriot Act we have moved being a republic..we are an empire strangling on the sour fruits of our own making.

I would also love to know the background of these two "libertarians"...living in the richest area of the country. They probably benifit directly or indirectly (mommy and daddy) from the incredibly large amount of money spent by the federal and state governemnt in this area.

If you want to see the "hands off" policies of the Libertarian Party at work, visit a Third World backwater. That's what you get.

Fact is the current state of affairs grew from a series of questionable decisions that transcend any single political point of origin. For the record Libertarians can't take much credit here one way or the other.
