Undercover cops arranged the encounters by posting bogus ads on Backpage.com. The online honey traps showed the likes of Amber, 27, a fictitious scantily clad “girl next door” who is “420 friendly” — slang for marijuana use — and “very open minded.” Another advertised Dylan of Garden City, L.I., a “down to earth guy who has a secret wild side.”

If I was after some Backpage hookers, I would take note of a few things...


None of the ads show faces.

All prices seem very cheap. $60 special?

All hookers bods are very trim and fit.

All ads use little symbols and gimmicks.

I would guess too that all the "hookers" were very accommodating, easy location and could "see you" quickly.

The UC put "420 friendly" in a couple of the ads too to get a twofer.

I don't bang hookers, but it is pretty interesting to see how they are busting folks.

Good for the cops.
They really need to get these dangerous people off the streets. Sure, there may be serial killers, murderers, face-eaters and rapists on the loose, but prostitutes and the people who purchase from them are top priority. Put all the time, taxpayers money and resources available into this noble endeavor.

History shows that busts like this will put a stop to it forever.

More easy busts that accomplish nothing except a reason for faggity douche bag cops to high five one another and gloat about putting somebody in jail.

And cops wonder why people hate them.

They do seem to make a point of the public reveal to rub the johns faces in their shit.

I used to think that prostitution should be legal but that would probably drive consumer prices up as the hookers would have to share with Uncle Sam.

Plus a hooker is only as clean as the last bone she rode, all that nonsense about testing and health would not amount to shit.

Law enforcement especially around NYC should be grateful as all get out that hookers are online and not running the streets fucking dudes in parked cars and filthing up neighborhoods.

The girls are still vulnerable to the serial killers and weirdos but at least now their is often some kind of electronic trail.

It does seem more like entrapment than a legitimate police sting.....but if they are doing these online stings, imagine what they are doing on the Silk Road. I bet half the sellers there now are law enforcements agencies from around the world.

No, SK is still safe. Its not worth the trouble of busting buyers. They have to seize your PC to make sure you are truly the buyer, they have to get your real ip from TOR, etc. Nowhere near as easy as a hooker sting.

cops are first responders that only report things: let them do it as they please, and they have other things to do, like downed power lines to learn about.

it's the magistrate that charges you, not the cop anyway.
