Homeless people are happier than rich people
Posted by: Few poor people kill themselves ()

Why is it that homeless people struggle and strive to live, while the billionaire blows his head off in his yacht and the little prissy celebrity ODs and kills themselves with a self destructive lifestyle?

I've seen poor people who are more generous than rich people. It's funny how the world really is when you're on the outside looking in. The grass really isn't greener on the other side.

Yeah, money does buy happiness. If you aren't happy with yourself as a person, nothing will be able to change that, especially money.

You must be a lamb center guest. I'm sure you are happy eating off trash lids and smelling like sewer.

OMG, I wish I were a mentally ill homeless drug addict, defecating in the gutter and screaming obscenities from my cardboard box, so I would never become spoiled by the evils of money and a good haircut.

Your sarcasm has been noted, yet you still can't make the connection with the high suicide rate among the middle class and "rich"

Could it be expectations?

Imagine the disappointment of someone striving to become rich, with all the sacrifice and endless hours of work, only to find total emptiness once their goal is achieved.

The showcase home means nothing, the beautiful wife is blowing the pool boy , and the yachts, the custom harleys, all the toys and possesions offering no contentment. The reality falls far short of the expectations. What was all that hard work for?

While the homeless person savors every Lamb Center free meal, appreciates the shower, recieves encouragement from the staff, wakes every day will the hope that today will be the day that life improves.

It may be easier to live with the expectation of life improving, than it is with realizing that while you've achieved everything that you thought would make you happy , and you're still miserable and depressed.

The suicide rate is highest amongst the poor, not the "rich".

Are you are asking why a wealthy person would commit suicide?

Mental illness isn't cured by a new car.

Do you have any proof of this? Although I didn't make that statement. It's just the fact that money can't buy happiness. And not all suicides are done by "mental illness" like BEH said, being rich and realizing it really amounts to nothing can cause someone to kill themselves once they realize they are still a failure no matter how much their house or car costs them.

Depression isn't a mental illness. Depression happens to people who live on this earth and have to deal with the shit that happens on this earth, daily.

No one is happy on this earth, no one.

No. I defer to those who study such things.

True.... but being on welfare sucks big time.

So, those "failures" would have killed themselves with or without the money?

It can be for some people.

But, most of us come out of our depressions when the events causing them are resolved, or, as with death or divorce, enough time has passed.

> No one is happy on this earth, no one.

I am..... unless I'm "depressed".

It's certainly possible to be depressed but not know it. I had a coworker who fell into poor health for seemingly no reason. His job performance waned, and he was often out sick. More than a year went by before he was diagnosed with anxiety syndrome and acute depression. He was sort of a bible thumping gun-nut though so I didn't much care for him, I'm guessing he was pretty big into the whole teabagger thing and probably a racist.

That's why there's trains, buses, high-rise building, etc.

Alias, have you ever been on welfare? How does getting free food/rent/not having to work - suck? EVERYONE knows they'd be on welfare if they could. That's why people NOT on welfare say shit like "My tax dollars go to feeding your lazy ass" aka "I have to get up and work everyday and you don't. I'm jealous" yes.

Who the fuck WANTS to work? Who the fuck WANTS to PAY-FOR-FOOD?! LMAO! Please!

You sound defensive and ashamed.

Your Daddy might have been one of those KKK men who used to hang black people from trees, but that doesn't mean you're bad. Unless you ARE bad. Are you?

Actually, Ive met quite a few poor people and they sponge of others and are always asking for money. Esp if you're talking about homeless people who don't work. They make a living as con artists with sob stories and beg for money and make more money than hard working families. Rich people can actually be very friendly and very generous. It just depends. In general, poor people lack manners and tact that comes with having money. I dont thin poor people are always the nice guys at all. Most criminals- i.e. murderers, rapists, etc are poor not rich

My minions at the IRS will do my bidding against the evil rich. If you think they have problems now wait a year or two when the audits kick in.
