But what makes the other guy look Pakistani?

Pakistani's dress in a way based on their perception of the west. They just don't look right in their clothes. I don't know how to explain it. For instance, the backwards hat, style that is no longer practiced. They are usually far behind the curve in their clothing. Also, they walk awkward at times to try to hard to walk cool. You see the second suspect doing it. Also, facial features are directly in line with Pakistani facial and skin characteristics. Also, the last time a pressure cooker bomb was attempted was by a young Pakistani in Times Square.

Pakistani's aren't all dark. You have to understand that half of Pakistan was India and half was once Persia and lighter skinned Aryans. I could be wrong but that second dudes walk was floating like I've only seen Paki's do. I'm tellin you that fuckin walk.

They certainly look like they have dark skin but I just don't see enough there to declare them Pakistani based on the pictures. Maybe somebody who knows what to look for could make that distinction.

A lot of Middle Easterners have "white" features. They are classified as part of the caucasian family.

The long hair looked to be Lebanese, Greek or Italian in one shot with the large beak, but in a shot where he is on the phone, a little less.

I'm also interested by iknow's observations, subtle clues that the guys are from Pakistan. Everybody is trained now to be so 'non judgemental' and has to write 'don't judge a book by its cover' 1000 times on the blackboard. That's how everyone is indoctrinated nowadays. But sometimes you have to try to figure out as best you can everything you can about someone by just looking at them, and seek subtle clues. It's a kind of art form, if not misused, and sometimes a very valuable one. I'm not saying we really have to do, but the professional investigators do have to. OTOH I don't find much value in comments like 'don't judge by superficial appearance'.
If you really have experience that such and such other has certain subtle variations in dress and mannerism which match these guys, OK, but just saying 'they might be from Kansas' because nothing about them rings a bell with you, not so worthwhile IMO.
There is something distinct about the way white hat is trying to walk 'cool', and my general impression especially after hearing the comments on their dress also is that these guys are foreigners or kids of immigrants. It kind of jibes with my general experience living in a heavily foreign-born area of the US. I don't know whether they're Pakistani though, and needless to say I'm not ready to declare 100% anything about them. I hope they're caught soon and we just find out.

Student visas are legal also. They came into the country under special status as refugees.

Didn't we just get another refugee (from Iraq) who tried to set off a bomb in front of a SSA office in Florida? He was given temporary asylum but was later refused permanent citizenship because of possible ties to terrorism back in Iraq.

Which is why, if we take on refugees or immigrants from questionable backgrounds they should be monitored. As a middle eastern citizen of this country I am all for that. What I am against is blanket statements like yuckys about how all pakis are bad (even though these guys are russian). I dont care if the statement was all Norwegians are bad (PS that guy was white and a terrorist), the point is idiots who draw massive stereotypes are likely the kind of nut jobs to do this kind of thing.

Let the fucking FBI do its job, and stop thinking you are smarter than a whole organization whose job it is to catch these douchebags. it took 48 hours to sift through a scene of ten thousand people, to find a needle in a haystack of 5 million residents, to find these guys.

Lets focus on that shit. The fact that the FBI is a baller machine of manpower that these guys stood no chance. I sure as hell feel comforted by it, and it should stand as warning to any other rambo yahoos of any nationality that America is not to be fucked with.

Who cares if the people were paki, saudi, russian, white, or black. They were against our ideals our freedoms our civil liberties and our lifestyle and killed innocent people.
