I think Atheism emphasizes an overall enhancement of the quality and enjoyment of life, because by rejecting any holy book they are basically implying that they don't think they will go anywhere after they die. Atheism promotes that you live for now. You can threaten an Atheist with hell all you want, that is like a 5 year old threatening to beat you up with his imaginary friend. I think it is worse to worship Satan, and being atheist does not necessarily mean you worship satan. It most cases it means you dont believe in Satan. Haven't told my parents that I'm atheist so I still go to the mosque and learn their fundamentals teaching. Its good to be knowledge in what others believe, because if you don't take everyone's beliefs you would be ignorant. Assimilate with other people, you can learn something good from anyone.

For many - maybe most - Atheists, becoming one isn't a choice. In fact, for me, it was one of the toughest things that ever happened. My family's reaction wasn't unlike the one you'd expect from homophobic parents when their child comes out of the closet.
