Ryan answered, “because we’re not going to give up on destroying the health-care system for the American people.”
CNN’s Dana Bash asked whether Ryan was being “disingenuous” by including new taxes that he opposed.
“We’re not going to refight the past,” he explained.
If Ryan is “not going to fight the past,” Fox News’s Chad Pergram asked, why is he still trying to repeal Obamacare?
“This to us is something that we’re not going to give up on,” Ryan answered, “because we’re not going to give up on destroying the health-care system for the American people.”
Even a skilled illusionist can have the occasional Freudian slip.

Voucher plan is going to cost more than the current program. Selling individual plans is just plain more expensive. Some of the profits from the vouchers will get recycled by insurance firms into lobbying Congress for more spending.

Exactly. Meanwhile Patty Murray, for the first time in four freaking years, outlines the Dem budget proposal which doesn't actually cut anything, raises taxes by 1 trillion, and still NEVER balances. lol

I'm surprised the republicans aren't trying to filibuster Ryan's comment.

Congrats, you have just given the OP a run for his money for being the poster child of how stupid the modern liberal is.
If 51% of the vote t 47% is a landslide to you what would you call what Regan did to Mondale in 1984? Im honestly curious if theres even a word in the english language to properly describe that beating with how low of a threshold you have to consider something a landslide

A balanced budget is nothing but a pipe dream. Ryan's plan does it improperly, while the Democratic plan doesn't address it.
Paul Ryan's budget is predicated on REPEALING OBOMACARE. WHICH IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!
Keep pounding away at that one GOP! Rather than addressing the losses and WHY you lost keep beating the same dead political Elephants. Keep drinking the electric tea, Thanks for Nothing you Filibustering fools.

obamacare will certainly be repealed. updated estimate, taxes double original estimate. when these taxes start affecting folks who were told they would not have their taxes increased the left will turn like a rabid pack of lemmings.
wrong. its already being implemented. State by state its starting to come in. And the more people see how well it works and what they like about it the more they will vote FOR people who WONT repeal it. because it actually benefits the people who need it most. The Poor and the Middle class who are being squeezed to death on all fronts. Let the Rich get squeezed! The GOP is the party of the 1%.

if you think Obamacare will help the middle class you are one of the lemmings that will turn. What does starting to come in even mean? What hasn't started coming in yet are the pass throughs that will affect the middle class consumer by raisng the cost of dining out to pet care. It is possible to find facts yourself, you do not have to believe things just because you like the sound of it or like the politician that says it. You probably think the White House had to shut down the tours because of a 45 billion dollar decrease in the amount of increased spending through the fall.
Those of you who are in opposition- I understand your point of view. However, you do realize that Paul Ryan's plan would raise the deficit another 110 billion due to the loss of the Obamacare revenue.

There won't be any "Obamacare revenue." At least not on a net basis versus actual costs. CBO has already been through this several times now.
The only way that someone might (disingenuously) attempt to make that case is on the basis of what's counted on-budget versus of-budget and that's just an accounting game.
In any case, elements of budgets like that on either side are not expected to actually go through as presented. Neither Ryan's nor Murray's nor Obama's budgets will ever pass as written. They are starting points for negotiation only.
