The link is obviously not tenuous. Fairfax County stands to lose the most when it comes to the impact of sequestration. Numerous news outlets have easily and successfully made the connection. Are you that butt-hurt that you can't make the connection?

As cuts go, this is very small. the magnitude of the cuts is inflated by the baseline. The government is going out of its way to try to make sure it can be noticed. Furlough the maximum number of people instead of making a small number of permenent layoffs. Making sure that frontline duties are cut back so the reductions are visible.
