What are some good ideas for that special someone on Valentie's day without breaking the bank?

Valentine's Day isn't a break-the-bank day.

Fix dinner for your lover, drink wine, and dance.....

Amateurs. The trick is to find something to fight about a few weeks before and break up. After Valentines Day then make up with her.

Don a nice hat and sing for your lover. Jump around and dance, be gentle and comedic.

Are you going to be angry and withdrawn during this time of year like you have in the past?

I noticed during my time here that you get angry and bitter sounding around Thanksgiving to Christmas, you get better in January, and then you get angry again around Valentine's. Then for the rest of the year you are back to your normal happy go lucky self.

Why is that?

What's with the word "bitter" these days?

It's now on my list of hated words, right up there with sustainable, amazing, uber, transparent, hubby and green.

OMG, I forgot "genius". I mean, who the fuck isn't a genius today?

Happy go lucky? I'd rather be bitter.

Let your love dry hump you. Safer than the real thing. Get to know someone before engaging

Hear that WSHS and other schools

btws, I don't mean all teens and young one's is dullards it's just sometimes these days its an uphill battle with all the mendacity in every direction

met some teens the other night working retail. a rare sight these days but it is tough economic times. They are the type of kids that make me pissed off over letting children of illegals stomp right over them for a college education. I think we owe these kids more than the children of illegals who lack the dignity and honor to stay in their own countries and make a better life for their children . these folks aren't willing to jump in the frying pan and make a better world like the Greatest Generation did during the '40's to early '60's. These folks not only from south of the border but around the world,(exempt Vietnam, still feel bad about that) aren't for most part of good stock.

how you doing frisky. Did you see that dress Jordin Sparks was wearing on TMZ clip. Wow she lost all her fat. Outstanding!

Nope but you are

Never watched Ellen self love fest before. Never thought she was all that funny
so never spent more than a few minutes watching before I started getting nauseous. But today a little different. Watched up to David Spade. A straight man could never get away with her mind fucking looks on tv. I thought wow how is this shit on at 3 p.m. in the afternoon instead of after 1:30 am. I found a lot of the material very questionable in taste. The pictures from Facebook, the exploitation of those little girls from England on the red carpet and the phoney baloney charity plugs. That just struck me as being for effect.
Ellen is worse than oprah. She's disgusting imo needs to go off in the sunset with her trophy wife

I guess what explains all them womens crazy for the slimeball is mass hysteria

doctor what happened to your license. You were so clever

Hoping to kill myself on Friday, lots of cliffs where i go to school so it won't be all too painful. It needs to end, and it needs to end soon.
I'm crushed by my own shortcomings, shattered by repeated failure. I cannot live on this planet anymore and it's not a sad day, for those who may someday mourn, It isn't a day of sadness, I can finally be free.

You can get a dozen (or less) roses cheap at any grocery store (but be careful with the color, depending on how close you are - and make sure you have a vase, which are cheap at places like Target). While you're there, pick up a nice bottle of wine and the ingredients for a good meal.

Put some actual effort into cooking. Don't just do steak - make something easy but elegant like steak au poivre. You could make baked Brie in prepackaged puff pastry as an appetizer. Again, easy but elegant. Add a flourless chocolate cake with strawberries and you've got a romantic meal.

Of course, this doesn't really apply if you're living in your parent's basement.

Red=love
Yellow=friendship
Pink=admiration
Orange=passion

If she's the type of woman who would know this, and you're not there yet, I'd probably stay away from red. I'm guessing that orange is more representative of your situation. Pink or a mixed bouquet is a good alternative.

Even as the totally heartless sociopath I am, and regardless of the fact that I don't know you, I ask you in all sincerity, please do not harm yourself.

The only difference between you and many people who SHOULD kill themselves is their ego. While you dwell on your mistakes and troubles , others ignore or lamely justify themselves with denial.

Yet, you seem to have more to offer than the average American douchebag.

You have a gift for prose and self expression.

You have a forum here for your expressions and people seem to enjoy your posts.

If anything, have some pity on me, don't kill yourself on Friday and write about it here on this forum , which will give me some credibility for having saved someone who very well may become well known writer some day.

Believe me, everyone fails, most people are disappointed with life, and the vast majority of them all have no talent whatsoever.

I'm >50k in debt and I'm about to be expelled from college, leaving me with no degree, no earning potential, and no future. I'm ready to check out, I gave it a good run, but you can't really outrun your demons. I mean you can run, but they're always right beside you. And that's the crux of the problem, no matter how much I work, how much I pray, God has turned his back on me. The problem with sin is that it currupts, inside and out, permanantly. I feel hollow, souless, and I see with clarity now, that there is no other way.

I hope you change your mind.

You're pretty young and life changes so much over the years.

Wouldn't you try to discourage someone from killing themself?

50 grand seems a lot of money , but hell, a lot of people are taking a lifetime paying off their student loans. I'm sure a lot of Med and Law students owe more than that.

Isn't this all a hoot anyway? If anyone should kill themselves it should be me.

I'm old, have nothing to look forward to. No talent, shitty job and will be as alone as an Eskimo on Valentines day too.

Yet, I want to fucking live! Where is the logic in this?

Much as I hate to agree with BEH, he is right. Your situation is far from hopeless. And you do have talent, which with some effort could lead to a career (graphic arts, web design, editing,...). Many people are in worse shape financially and occupationally than you are. If you want to see redemption from the depths of despair, go to an AA meeting.

You need to talk to someone who can put your life in perspective and give you hope. This place wouldn't be the same without you.

Before GF - Lived alone but slept in as long as I wanted on weekends. More spending money. Strip clubs every so often. No weekends spent visiting people I hardly knew or didnt care to know. Watched tv in shorts. Left pizza out on counter all night ate it next morning for breakfast. Played cards at casino. Picked up tramps at local watering holes for one night stands.

Dinner at home, a bottle of wine, and a decadent dessert. Cuddle up with a movie or next to a (lit) fireplace. Flowers are nice, but I'd avoid roses... way too overpriced this week. Orchids are gorgeous but require a bit of work if you want to keep them alive to bloom again. Maybe lilies or tulips?

You had no one special. Stalking lizzie doesn't count as a relationship, sure you stayed home and "relieved" yourself again this Valentine's Day too!
