What liberals dont understand

Liberals live in urban areas. When the police are called most times they are there in a few minutes in a true emergency. In the rural area where I grew up during the daytime there was one deputy sheriff on duty along with one state trooper for the whole county. In terms of physical size the county was bigger than Fairfax.
At night time there was one state trooper on duty for our county and he also covered the next adjoining county. To get from one county to the next could take an hour easy at certain points if they ran with lights and siren on. That is why people will need the right to own guns for self protection. I doubt liberals will ever understand this. The idea to give a criminal what he wants because he has a gun will never be acceptable in that world.

Your assuming they care, they dont. That doesnt affect them so its not their problem. They have a vested interest anyway in having people depend on the government so they can get votes. If you are self sufficent and can protect yourself you are a treat to them in the voting booth. Plus they dont like guns and they know best.
Nothing about the gun debate has been based in fact and they certainly wont let the facts you presented get in the way of sensatializing myths

You should see them at church every sunday and have grown up with their Grann pappy and his gran pappy before them. You are assuming what is an urban-rural issue is a liberal-conservative one. Giuliani who is hardly the screaming liberal tended to be more aggressive on gun control while mayor of NYC than many rural southern liberal politicians.

I completely agree with this. If anyone here has read the book In Cold Blood, by Truman Capote, how long did it take for people to find out that the Clutters were dead?
I believe it was 5 or so hours. You NEED guns for peace of mind in rural areas. We make fun of West Virginia all the time... those people need guns for defense. They can hunt with them if they want; nothing is wrong with that.

As a liberal I am against all guns. If a criminal breaks into my home I will let him rape and kill my wife, slit the throats of my kids and set my home on fire. Because if you just give a criminal what he wants he will go away and not harm you. Tough luck for the rest of my family.
