I agree. If all three people get lawyers and fight the charges, chances are at least two will walk away scot-free, if not all three.
I bet in the end, the judge is only going to slap the car owner (or driver) on the wrist, with some remark about "it's your car, would you let someone put a gun in your glove box, let alone drugs?"
You should get a piss test soon, to prove that you are clean and just happen to have been with some people you weren't aware had their own private drug problems.
They may be harsher in NJ, but here in VA, a first offense for simple possession is usually not prosecuted, they just suspend your driver's license for 6 months and if you are charged with ANYTHING in those 6 months, then you have to go to trial on the charges, otherwise they are dropped.
