It was a lie told in the critical state of Ohio in the final days of a close campaign -- that Jeep was moving its U.S. production to China. It originated with a conservative blogger, who twisted an accurate news story into a falsehood. Then it picked up steam when the Drudge Report ran with it. Even though Jeep's parent company gave a quick and clear denial, Mitt Romney repeated it and his campaign turned it into a TV ad.

And they stood by the claim, even as the media and the public expressed collective outrage against something so obviously false.

People often say that politicians don’t pay a price for deception, but this time was different: A flood of negative press coverage rained down on the Romney campaign, and he failed to turn the tide in Ohio, the most important state in the presidential election.

He was the best out of that motley group. The Republican debates were some of the funniest things on TV earlier this year. Remember all of them said they would repeal "Obamacare" on day one? It took Michele Bachmann to stand up and say the legislation process doesn't work that way. Remember Rick Santorum's " I am the only one talking about the moral dangers of birth control."

Remember Rick Perry forgetting about the Department of Energy? Remember Herman Cain's "Paki-stan stan stan?" And let's not forget "fly us to the moon" Gingrich.

They kept trying to shoot the other in the foot, and they kept shooting themselves in the foot. It was a laugh riot.

Even Roger Ailes felt the field was weak. Cain would have been an even worse disaster than Obama, and Rick Perry's George W Bush ties, and look alike swagger would have been really exploited by the Democrats.

Romney may had had a better chance had he not gone so far right in the primaries. He might have had a better chance if someone came forward and claimed Mitt gave him a job, he worked hard, and now, thanks to Mitt, he is worth over one million dollars. But, apparently, anyone who really knows Mitt, but who is not super wealthy, doesn't really like Mitt.

Nope.

Election 2012 - enough memories to last a lifetime.

And they wonder why they lost by a landslide to a black President with high unemployment and a shitty economy?!

Apparently - being led by a morally bankrupt empty suit Republican is less appealing to voters than letting people who take it up the ass get married while a negro President raises your taxes.
