We are offering HUGE discounts on snow shovels and rock salt at
Al's Global Warming Hysteria Store. Better hurry while supplies last.
Tell'em you heard about it on the Fairfax Underground and we'll
give you two shovels for the price of one.

Can't be closed. They used up all the snow days during Hurricane Sandy.

President's Day weekend is usually the good bet for a big snow storm. A couple of the big snow storms in recent history have hit on that weekend. The weather has been so fickle lately, it could drop 20" of snow one day and 5 days later be in the mid 60's.

Stock up on gasoline, bottled water and non perishable goods. Firewood is plentiful thanks to Sandy.

Thank you for the reminder, I need to restock my liquor and meat supplies. BRB, going to Restaurant Depot and the liquor stores in MD (better selection than VA ABC IMO).

Also for the blizzard- a good idea to get a generator, I bet the power will go out. Honda, Yamaha, Suburu are good. Spend 1k and you should be able to keep a space heater, a few lights, TV+ cable box on, laptop/cell charged, and maybe make a pot of coffee or cook dinner in a toaster oven or GF grill.

Happy Holidays FFu.

Don't forget to get at least 25 gallons of gas and be sure to put sta-bil or seafoam in it just in case you dont need it right away.

A styrofoam cooler is cheaper and holds more gasoline.

I wonder how many other people around the world are hoping for the same thing?

Maxing out their credit cards, trying heroin for the first time, pulling together an early Christmas party around the 20th just in case.

I want it to snow and shut everything down for a week so I can try out my new camping gear.

If I become homeless in Fairfax County, sleeping in the snow in a tent is good practice. I even got a little propane heater/stove to heat up chef boyardee, soup, and make instant coffee. Got my walmart sleeping bag ready.... a little pocket TV for entertainment...and a mossberg if I run into any animals!

I've already got my patch of woods picked out in a upper-middle class neighborhood where no one will notice me in my army green tent! They will be too busy flipping over their 4x4's while texting about it on their way to starbucks and giant to fight over the last loaf of bread and gallon of milk to notice me in the woods right behind their house!

My prediction is it will hit sometime in late Janurary.

Couldn't agree more about that last sentence. As for the blizzard, I was a wee lad, but I remember going outside, looking up at the walls of snow that my dad had piled up around our driveway and sidewalks and thinking it was the tallest thing I had ever seen. My dad was probably pissed that I wasn't old enough to help.

They had help. Look at those that have migrated to this area since 78.

Not too long ago most of them were driving camels, donkeys and water buffalo.
