Andrea Mitchell said, on Meet the Press this morning on NBC, that Cantor pushed the FBI to go after Petreaus. It may have been a last minute grab for the whitehouse.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather have Petraeus in our government than Cantor.

The whole thing came to light because someone complained about getting harassing emails from her.

Typical jilted lover, she went into stalker mode because her boyfriend stopped paying attention to her.

The FBI investigation started in April or thereabouts. Someone within the FBI that tipped off Cantor in late October.

Yup. We can only hope that weasel finds a reason to resign too. Wife works for Goldman Sachs. Seems to enjoy representing the interests of Wall St. despite Henrico County, VA being home to zero investment houses. Bet against America with his portfolio during the debt ceiling deliberations (shorted t-bonds). It is guys like this that ruining this country. What a waste of a seat.

So does that make them better or worse than Andrea Mitchell who is claiming Cantor pushed the FBI into releasing this information?

That was in response to Cantor betting against T-bonds.

A lot of congressmen on both sides of the aisle placed financial trades on situtations in which they had inside knowledge on a legislative matter in which they may have had an active role.

I'm not defending Cantor esepcially as his bet went the wrong way.

See anything wrong with that.

I'm more interested in Congressional misconduct than CIA misconduct.

The CIA seems to be doing their job. Maybe the FBI doesn't have enough real or perceived authority over House and Senate members.

I totally agree. I'm not a big fan of the CIA, but they are at least trying to do something constructive. Congress is just a bunch of cranky tea party representatives bitching about taxes on the wealthy and spending on the poor.
