Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
It's been getting plugged up real bad in the morning usually cuz I sleep on my right side, so I guess that's not helping. Do you think it could be infected?

take a mixture of 50/50 hydrogen peroxide/water, tilt your head and pour into your ear. Allow it to foam up, then rinse with lukewarm water.

Go to the doctor. You may have an ear infection that requires antibiotics. If it is earwax or some sort of physical obstruction, you probably don't want to go fucking around with it yourself. Your ear drum is very fragile and you can easily burst it if you don't know what you're doing. If you burst it, then you'll have to go to a doctor anyway, but you'll have the added bonus of pain and longer-term hearing loss.

Thanks MrM. My 30 year old son was visiting last year. He either suddenly/or over the course of a few hours, could not hear, and was in mild pain. This is a kid who takes an asperian once a year.
Took him to an urgent care. They rinced (sp) his ear a few times, and a big blog of wax finally came out. He was fine in an instant. To the OP, as MrM said. don't mess with yours ears man. Hope you feel better.

Not a bad idea at all. Hope OP either listen's to you, or go to a docter. We need our ears:))

It doesn't hurt to try a rinse with 50% diluted H2O2, and if that doesn't work, then off to urgent care.
If there is any kind of pain, I'd go straight to urgent care, but I like to try simple remedies first. Just like I try blotting a stain on the carpet with water before I drag out the big bottle of bleach, you know?
To the OP: to be safe, type your symptoms into Google and then look at any results from WebMD, NIH.gov, etc (reputable sites, not some blog about holistic remedies) -- the reputable sites will tell you if you should drop everything and go see a doctor or try simple things first that might resolve it for you.
