Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
I just bought a new Accord and want to replace the boring halogen headlights with HID headlights. That is the only upgrade I want to make. What is the best place in the area to have this done? What kind of cost will I be looking at? Thanks!
eh mang, you come to american dr I install on scene you give me $300 i change de lights man. I also has the flame included with rosary, good price for you mang.
Do not do it. Halogen headlamps are not designed for high intensity discharge bulbs. They will produce glare and blind other drivers which can cause an accident [and/or annoy them]. Do it right or don't do it at all. You could have them retrofitted or get the HID headlamps that may be an option for the Accord if they were made.
This is coming from someone who used to put these things into other people's cars.
On another note: there are too many new cars on the roads! The headlights are too damned bright!

Yep.
Morons who immediately want to do "mods" on new cars are disappointed with the lack of attention they're getting with just the new car, so they want to up the ante. A pair of "look at me" headlights fit the bill perfectly. Blinding/annoying other drivers is precisely the point because, to an attention whore, there's no such thing as negative attention.

DO NOT change your healights to HID the only thing you will succeed in doing is paying a shit ton more money for headlight bulbs when they burn out, somewhere around 100.00 - 150.00 if im not mistaken in some cases more.....not that much money really if you think about it but its a shit ton for a light bulb
I had a set on my Toyota. I also had a wing on the back, LEDs on the windshield wipers, and neon tubes underneath. Some flame decals made it go faster, along with the sticker of a little kid with a Messican hat.
Back when I was alive, that is... Now I'm just worm food.
Jessie, why did you do this to me?
Everyone else, please think of me when you hear a leaf blower at this times of the year.
I think my original post was misunderstood so let me clarify... I want real HID headlight assemblies like the ones that are installed on newer luxury cars. I want these for all the right reasons...because of how well they light up the road, their increased visibility and their long life span. I understand the assemblies are expensive and I am fine with that which is why I am asking you all to recommend a reputable installer and not just going to Advanced Auto and picking up a couple bulbs in a shiny blue package.

If you actually bought a "new Accord" I suggest you check with the dealer and ask if he can do the work for you and if that isn ot the case, ask if finding another installer would void the warranty. I would be careful in modifying electrical components if the car is under warranty ...
I have retinal eye disease that makes me very sensitive to bright lights(also a vampire) those fancy headlights too bright make it very difficult to see and I end up steering the car towards the headlights BOOM

Yeah, you're going to pay out the butt for OEM DOT-approved lights with the full fixture and lens and all. Which is why most don't do that.

Umm, if you put blinding/annoying headlights on a car, how would other people even know it is a new car? Ya know, because they were blinded.... Duhhhh.
Hondas are practical, economical cars that will provide years of service.
But it's a Honda and no amount of time and money will turn it to anything else but a fuckin Honda. Be smart and save your money so maybe you can impress a lady with a nice vacation to some exotic island before they disappear. Life on this erroding planet is to short to waste time, energy and money on a car that will look like shit from rocks, debris and fender crushers. In fact I'm wasting time.
Drive your pretty car on 495 and see how many lights are working afterward. If you want to waste money then snort it up your nose. You will feel good, temporarily. What a latin dickhead. Hope you don't have any children.
