I was kind of aware of that, but thanks for making it much clearer.

Yes, that was a long time ago. But if you want to complain about how Virginia is occupied by people you don't like, you can't ignore ancient history.
The fact is, Virginia would have fewer "yankees" if the South had been successful in their effort at become a sovereign country separate from the North. However, they failed. People from all over the country are free to move here and do business here and seek employment here. Just like people from Virginia are free to move to New York City or Philly or where ever they wish.

I didn't realize one had to have been personally involved in ancient history in order to discuss it.

You are what is wrong with this country -- projecting your ideas and opinions on anyone that rubs you the wrong way.

I don't follow a party line. I am equal opportunity in my disgust for both parties. I think people who adhere to any particular brand of demagoguery are devoid of original thought, intellectually dishonest, and seek explanations for things based solely on their political viewpoint, ignoring facts and viewpoints that don't fit their narrative.

How would you know where FCPS is currently in their curriculum? Maybe I just happen to remember my history classes from long ago. I'm probably older than you.
