An Oregon election worker under criminal investigation for changing ballots to help Republican candidates was fired, according to The Raw Story.

Clackamas County, Ore. spokesman Tim Heider said in a press release Monday that Deanna Swenson, was "relieved of duty immediately after the alleged ballot tampering was discovered."

The website reports: Contacted by Willamette Week, Swenson tearfully insisted that it was "only the two" ballots that had been altered.

The Oregon Department of Justice began an investigation last week after an elections official reportedly observed ballots being altered.

As Willamette Week reported last week: "Sources familiar with the incident say their understanding is that the woman filled in a straight Republican ticket on the ballots where preferences had been left blank by voters."

Oregon Department of Justice spokesman Jeff Manning told the paper: "We are investigating felony violations of Oregon election laws which allegedly took place in Clackamas County and involved a temporary county elections' employee's tampering with cast ballots."

She said she just changed one. The next day she said two. A few days later it was six. A week later, with the state looking into it they can see that at least 5000 were altered. How real was the clackamas county election?

That's what's wrong with republicans. When cornered with facts, they try to deflect.

I suspect same-day voter registrations are to blame for a "104% turnout".

And the lady who changed votes for the GOP is just some sycophantic moron who thought she was going to help Romney win because our country cannot survive another 4 years of Obama.

These examples of "voter fraud" and the voter ID bullshit are all distractions, deflections and attempts to disenfranchise. If there is any real voting fraud that would have an actual impact on the outcome, it would happen on a much grander scale, and it would be done by the organizations themselves, not citizens casting an extra vote or filling in incomplete ballots.

The real fraud occurs in the counting, or in the software in the machines themselves. Kicking absentee ballots off of aircraft into the gulf of mexico, for example.
