One of the risks in focusing too much on the results of any one poll, like the Gallup national tracking poll, is that you may lose sight of the bigger picture.
On Thursday, that story was one of President Obama continuing to hold leads in most polls of critical states. Of the 13 polls of swing states released on Thursday, Mr. Obama held leads in 11 of them.

Lol. Nate Silver still trying to carry Obama's water.
Go look at his own skewed system to see the effects of multiple polls showing Romney quickly closing any gaps. He just last week had to back off of his call that it was an electoral lock for Obama.

When a poll has a stated margin of error of 3% and disagrees by 8% to 11% with a bunch of other polls that are in agreement with each other, each of which also has a 3% margin of error then, without even thinking about it, it is quite okay to say "Uh...somethin's wrong here".
