Harry Reid Lies Again
Posted by: lyin dems ()

Is anything this douchs says not a lie?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has become the chief attack dog against his co-religionist Mitt Romney, but on Wednesday that attack went even further when his official Senate office released a statement that attributed a quote to Mr. Romney, even though he said the exact opposite.

Mr. Reid's release quoted the Republican presidential nominee's staff as telling the Boston Globe that Mr. Romney would "not honor deportation exemptions" that President Obama has granted under his new non-deportation policy.

But that phrase doesn't appear in the Globe's article. In fact the newspaper said Mr. Romney's staff specifically "said he would honor deportation exemptions issued by the Obama administration before his inauguration," though the staffers said a Romney administration wouldn't issue any new exemptions itself.

Big news would be when any politician doesn't outright lie or spin the truth.

The Mormon church is highly in favor of amnesty. The LDS church has very strong ties to latin america and they do not support deportations. This is a big deal to the LDS church, Utah even has a guest worker program and they even give illegals driver licences. Romney is a bishop in the LDS church, he will not be strict to immigration, it would be against his religion and Church cannon.

In light of the Book of Mormon’s statements, anyone who invests their energies to confront and fight against illegal immigration misspends his energies. This is part of the Lord’s plan that will chasten the wicked Gentiles in America and ultimately establish Zion in Jackson County, Missouri. God himself has placed this problem among us to bring to pass his own purposes and fulfill covenants made to ancient and modern prophets. The descendants of Lehi were given the land by covenant. The rest of us are just tenants and squatters. Only those Gentiles who repent and accept the fullness of the restored gospel will find an ultimate solution to the problem of illegal immigration. That solution will be realized only when we are “no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.

Republicans, if you wanted a president who would take a hard line on immigration, you nominated the wrong guy.

First lines of the opinion piece you posted:

Yeah, you FAIL.

I am a mormon, well jack-mormon, yes they are not the exact words, but in essence they are pretty close to the official view of the church. Sorry to disappoint.

“The Church’s position on political neutrality states: Elected officials who are Latter-day Saints make their own decisions and may not necessarily be in agreement with one another or even with a publicly stated Church position.”

I have to agree, I have family in SLC so I get to hear all the LDS craziness. YOu have to remember their is the Political part of LDS that says one thing in public and the other that it says in the temple. But here is pretty much what I see:

The Church still teaches that "Members should obey, honor, and sustain the laws in any country where they reside or travel." In spite of this, the Church baptizes and extends full membership to illegal aliens who are not obeying, honoring, and sustaining the laws of the United States where they now reside.

The Church calls for compassion for illegal aliens who are committing serious violations of U.S. immigration and criminal laws, but ignores justice for an estimated 50,000 Utah children, and over one million Arizona children and their families, who are the victims of job-related identity theft.

At the same time that the Church tells new converts in the poorest countries and villages in the world to stay where they are in order to build up the Church there, its public affairs and media groups and surrogates accuse those who ask people illegally in the United States to return to those very same countries and villages of being mean-spirited and cruel.

But I don't think Romney would side with SLC over RNC...but he isn't the most loyal RNC member either.

Well they better say that if they want to keep their tax exempt status. But in Utah State house, LDS runs the show....
