State Of The 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Cycle
Post debate analysis is in full swing ad infinitum among our media brethren. Along with all the Mensa level musings from the talking heads are bits of developing conventional wisdom that are appearing to gain in popularity.
*Romney shocked everyone with his command of issue details.
Really? Coherent discourse over economic issues from a former CEO of a private capital investment firm and Governor of Mass. comes as a shock?
And really how much detail can you cover on any issue in a 2 minute response?
This is laughable. Romney's fiercest critics especially on the left have criticized him for his non specific economic and tax policy proposals.
People are idiots. Two minute responses to declare what you are going to do with the United States tax code, in detail, which currently is over 70,000 pages long...............right! Even on the campaign trail how is this possible? The tax code needs to be totally thrown out and replaced with something drastically different. Just like Obamacare.
Moron's like Joe Scarborough and other morons on the left crowing about "specifics" have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to tax policy.
"Romney lacked specifics" on his tax policy according to Obama and geniuses like Mika Brzezinski on MSNBC. "How is Romney going to pay for it?"
Of course explaining liberals error of using static economic scoring in regards to tax cuts and its effect on federal revenue verses dynamic scoring, economic growth and wealth creation takes more than 2 minutes also but Romney did a pretty decent job. Dumbing it down to things like "making the pie bigger" or in Romney's case lowering tax rates on earned income for everyone, not interest or cap gains, will stimulate growth, broaden the tax base and increase revenues.
Ahh but this is just a little bit too much for your average run of the mill idiot liberal brain to grasp.
Then liberals ask, "Why didn't Obama hit him with the 47% thing"?
The answer..... It did not focus group well.
Yes, many people in this 47% depend on government in some form or another but that doesn't mean they want to. Many folk think they have been trapped into holding their hand out and want an alternative. If not for them, at least their grandchildren. Why would you want to raise your children to depend on Washington?
Out of "the 47%" Obama has only locked up about 42% the vote.
Obama has nothing to gain in the next two debates. Do you think the economy is going to magically turn around in 40 days or so?
Biden should cancel his only debate. Call in sick or something. Jesus! if you think last night was bad just wait.
I mean really folks! Obama, of all people, harping about some liberal think tank assessing Romney's tax plan as a deficit buster??? That was glaring to many people watching, even the stupid to some measure.
