The new edition of “Inside Loudoun County” features segments highlighting emergency preparedness efforts in Loudoun County and the 2011-2012 season at the Franklin Park Arts Center.

The guest in the first segment of the show is Jeff Fletcher, Deputy Coordinator for the Loudoun County Office of Emergency Management. He emphasizes how important it is for both residents and businesses in Loudoun to have an emergency preparedness plan in place in case disaster strikes. Fletcher says a new online tool is available to help people make a plan. Loudoun County and 11 other jurisdictions in Northern Virginia have partnered to create an online family preparedness planner and an online business preparedness planner to help the region be better prepared. Both planners, online at www.loudoun.gov/oem and www.ReadyNova.org, provide an easy-to-use tool for developing emergency plans that follow basic and accepted emergency management practices.

The guest in the show’s second segment is Jeff Stern, Manager of the Franklin Park Arts Center. He provides a preview of the center’s 2011-2012 season, which kicks off with a performance by Too Many Daves on Friday, September 23; followed by the documentary film about Nichols Hardware in Purcellville, “The Last Hardware Store,” on Saturday, September 24; and The American Shakespeare Company’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” on Sunday, September 25. Stern says the new season includes something for everyone, with a mix of nationally known performers and local artists in the fields of music, dance, theater and more. The center is also home to VSA Arts Virginia. More information is available online at www.loudoun.gov/franklinparkartscenter.

“Inside Loudoun County” is a 30-minute cable television program airing Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., and repeating at various times, on Comcast Government Channel 23, Verizon FiOS Channel 40, and Open Band Channel 40. The program is also archived for viewing through the Loudoun County webcast system at www.loudoun.gov/webcast-ilc. The show is hosted by Nancy McCormick of the Loudoun County Communications and Public Affairs Division and is produced by Comcast.
