LBSS alumni causing problems
Posted by: another Concerned parent ()

I am a parent of 3 LBSS students and I am deeply concerned with the actions of a group consisting of LBSS alumni that still loiter around Burke. They provide alcohol to many underage boys and girls and orchestrate high school parties. I find this a very serious issue pertaining to the health and safety of our school age children that should not be partaking in these parties in the first place, let alone with individuals who are old enough to purchase them alcohol for their own perverted reasons.

These people routinely make vulgar comments about underage girls on the internet and i am not comfortable with grown men expressing their sexual desires to girls who are not old enough to vote

The common decency of our community is at stake if this behavior continues to be ignored! MANY OF YOU KNOW WHO THESE YOUNG ADULTS ARE and we must take some serious measures to keep our kids performing at their potential and making good decisions.

Sincerely,

A very concerned parent

I think I may know exactly who you're talking about...When did these alumni graduate from Braddock?

This has been happening for many, many years. Grads who are still in the area or home for break hang out with their high school friends. I graduated several years ago and remember lots of 19-20 year olds waiting by the high school for their friends to get out. Yes, they probably do supply some of the alcohol to minors, but honestly most of the grads that still hang out with high schoolers are under 21 themselves. I've never felt the need to hang out with kids from high school after I graduated, seems kind of lame.

To tell the truth, it isn't your place to go around trying to ban people from hanging out with each other. I'm not sure if they are "orchestrating" high school parties, there are plenty of high school kids with very relaxed/oblivious parents to do that. I get that you are worried about your kids, which is great, but as long as you make sure they aren't going to those kinds of parties (pretty easy to tell if they always "sleep over" at their friend's house to sober up or get home at like 2am or later) then you won't run into any problems.

I'd say the major component to underage kids drinking is their parents, until they go off to college that is. Every once in a while one of these underage kids will be driving home drunk from a party and get themselves killed or hospitalized, but their friends will still continue their lame little parties, because that's what kids do. It isn't right, but if you are truly concerned about it you should talk to other parents rather than lay the entire blame on kids who are still largely under 21.

Ever think that YOUR kids look for us?
I'm a girl from lb but there is not one day I don't get messaged for sex or to find kids alcohol or drugs
Thats just how it works nothing we can do.
Nothing you can do, just teach your kids to do the right thing. Make sure they understand the consequences
Because there has been STD out breaks in our community.
Rapes in parties because the younger ones get drunk beyond conscious actions.

Try to see if lb will have weekend parties there, get parents to chaperone. or do once a month lock ins.

Good luck

Sincerely,
a poorly accused alumni

As a former student you should know that there are a lot of bad parents out there. I have had parents ask me if I want a beer when I walk in their home. I started drinking so young because my friend's parents made it so accessible. I regret that I befriended this type of crowd. But they were the popular athletes....and also honor roll kids...like me. I truly thought that I had to. One mom taught me how to shoot tequila. I lied to my parents...and my parents were lied to by my "friend's" parents. It was soooo not worth it. Kids really do not need mom and dad to be their party buddy. Seriously. And parents that drink daily and party it up all weekend don't help either. Your example means nothing.

Oh hell...me and my crew have been "causing problems" now for over 2 decades after we graduated.

1) Be a good parent.

2) Don't come onto an Internet forum and complain about problems in your community...I mean, not if you're looking for practical solutions.

3) If you do select an Internet forum to complain about problems in your community...you may want to select some place OTHER than Fairfax Underground. If you think the responses you got were "rough"...try posting an obituary some time.

Fuck your community, fuck FCPD, and fuck all you parents that call the cops on kids walking at night under the label of "suspicious" activity.

How else are they supposed to get some pelt before it becomes so overgrown it looks like a bird's nest down there, like yours?

Pelt. It's what's for dinner.

Nothing new here. The achievers and strivers go off to college. The losers stay behind and primp for the high schoolers. It's your kids' choice. Always has been, always will be. Avoid the losers and you will be fine. Become the loser and have fun for 3-4 years hanging out at Glory Days, Friendly's and Mickey D's. Then you turn 21 and realize your azz is grass.D
