School population up yet boundaries didn't change
Posted by: Cali ()
Date: September 14, 2012 09:43PM

Springfield Apartments- Local FCPS 5801 Backlick Road has increased its enrollment with an increase of more than 120 students since June 23, 2012.

No New Housing in this area

FC hasn't changed the school boundaries?

Are people living six families to a house? Don't get it.

Yet, taxpayers are paying $3,000 plus extra per esol family.

Embrace it. There are 7,000 plus esol students in the county.
I guess we have gotten the rest of PwC families.

The state of VA doesn't pay for ESOL.
Fairfax County tax payers are paying for this. an extra 25 millon.

With 7,652 new students in ESOL this year, that represents an additional $25.3 million.

Don't just say control illegal immigration. This is legal immigration. Virgil Goode says he will stop all green cards and work visas.

Vote Virgil Goode Virginia. He is paying attention and speaking up for you.

My parents came here speaking only Italian. They didn't expect the school system to teach me English.

Why do these parents send their children to school without knowing how to speak the language.

My friend was sponsoring her nephew from another country; he had to attend a private school because he was not "part of the household" until they were able to adopt him.

I do not know what the loophole is that lets children without social security numbers into our schools.

Birgil Wrote:For all legal immigration, require that all adult immigrants pass an English language proficiency test before they are allowed into America, AND, for all child immigrants, do not let them in at all unless they are accompanied by both parents and both parents have passed the English proficiency test, before entering America.

Unless a child is pulled for ESOL, they can sit in a class listening to their teacher speak English all day. Federal Law mandates that ESOL teachers are in the schools. The classroom teacher instructs the class using English. Nothing mandates that teachers must make sure that children that do not understand the lang. are learning.
I assume that there are exemptions for ESOL so that they do not have to take standardized tests.

Children return home to tv stations in their family's spoken language, and their family's customs.
Our ESOL kids may know who sponge Bob is- Yet even their cartoons are on channels spoken in another language.

It is time that FAirfax County takes a look at this. Taxpayers & Delegates for our County.

Help me out with this one! Lynbrook ES for the past ten years has enrolled about 460 students. Two months later, at the beginning of Sept. there are six hundred.
Where the hell are these 120 kids living?
This school was built more than fifty years ago. It is small. No parking spaces, the school bus lane is right on Backlick Road. Only three school busses can fit in the loop.
There are eight buses going into the school

Where are the politicians that used to cryFoul at Micro Mansions?

There are no new housing developments in the Crestwood/ Lynbrook Neighborhoods.
County hasn't changed the school boundaries so we are pulling from the same streets/ houses.

It isn't fair to the kids that live in a single family home and are missing out on a good education due overcrowding.

ESOL isn't a protected class. It isn't racist.

Define Racist. Teachers do not have to speak any other lang. than English.

If a child can not understand the lang., they just sit there until they get to go to their alloted 20 minutes of ESOL help.

Racist = Anyone who questions why all these children are here. Now shut
up and pay more taxes.

School Lynbrook at 5801 Backlick Road has increased its enrollment by more than that 120 students in two months.

No New Housing in this area

Are people living six families to a house? 15 to an apartment?

The school buses are way too over crowded.

Why are there so many kids at this one school?

My understanding Fairfax county along with federal govt gives these families almost all their rent money, utility vouchers, food stamps and cell phones. not to mention free and reduce lunch and school supplies. What ever happened to working to support your family? Have you ever gone to your child's school when the parent is screaming at the school worker in their language about their child's problems? Or they want more for their child. And the children of the tax payers get slighted because of services for the ESOl kids. Not to mention how rude the kids are. When they get to high school they don't go to school.

I know this sound bad but I get tired of supporting all these families.

I have seen some of the parents demanding things that I know I must pay for.

What happens when these kids get to high school? If they drop out, do they find work or return to Honduras?

I wish someone that works in a high school will tell us what happens to the kids. I just know at the middle school the kids and parents do not want to learn English and the kids a rude and the parents are more rude. The parents from Pakistan are just very demanding and don't pay for anything. they justs take take and take.

Not all parents are demanding; but many are. They are the ones that have quite a few children.
At times, I'd like to ask them why they don't enroll their little demanding kids at a private school.
No dancing with kids of the opposite sex; no singing to a child of the opposite sex.
Special meals; or foods to avoid.

My kid has peanut allergies. I understand that my child sits at the peanut free table.
I do not demand things to the music teacher, gym teacher or art teacher.

I also do not take my kid out of school for 4 to six weeks to go overseas to attend a wedding.

When do realestate paying taxes residents say enough. I used to be a room mother but I do not want to anymore because of rude kids who do not speak English complaining or their parents telling the teacher of all the things their kids are allow to have or not have and what I need to do the next time. Plus their child needs to bring home stuff for their younger children at home because it as not fair that this kid got something and the one at home did not.

Are any people grateful? Another thing I pay for it all out of my pocket because three quarters of the class is free and reduced and won'/don't send in any money.

We need to take our county back.

What is this ethnic cleaning. What is wrong with working to support your own family. I worked 2 or 3 jobs when I first got married when we started a family. Why do they expect everyone to give them everything. What is wrong with working?

Kudos to the bus drivers in Area I transportation.

Some of the students that are living three families to a house aren't always the best behaved.
The Springfield Apartments or Chealsea square apartment kids follow the rules dictated by the many of their older male relatives or the ElSalvador unlawful, do as you want, behavior.

The bus drivers in certain areas must be under quite a bit of stress.

What is wrong with working?
I don't know if they have been promised that things will be given to them by rich America or not.
I do know some women that are working two or three jobs, but they have such low pay.

I wish that Fairfax county took the same posture as Prince William county did a few years ago.

Imagine coming to this area without a high school diploma. Many of the legal immigrants have gone through grade 8 or 9 in their own country. Now they have kids.

Three minimum wage jobs still isn't enough to pay all the bills.
This may not apply to all--- just a portion- Hard working people. Began having families at an earlier age than most. South of the border- non USA, boys father children between ages 14 to 19. Family is important to these folks and their religion discourages contraception unless its the rhythm method.

Not Going To Happen - FIOS plays "ViendoMovies" for free... and don't forget the FIOS Free Spanish Language Channel Previews every 60 ~ 90 days!
Helps you to brush up when the 1) white panel van clips your car in the HD parking lot 2) "mom" and "cousins" start yelling in the pickup/dropoff lane at your local elementary school 3)the "groups of youths of undetermined origin" start prowling your local High School 4)your lawn service guys can't figure out which lawn to mow....

I would like to see Fairfax County enforce how many families live in one apartment.

They are packed like sardines in Springfield square and chelsea Square.
Maybe its Springfield Gardens?

Kids have bed bug bites and their family linger along the highway. Just hanging out.
