After conducting three "storm surveys" Saturday night in Fairfax County, the National Weather Service reports that there was no tornado during Saturday's storm that hit and knocked out power to more than 100,000 homes in Northern Virginia.

See photos of the damage here.

"We had a member of our office survey the area and there was no evidence of a tornado, as of right now, based on what we saw last evening," Brandon Peloquin, a meterologist with the National Weather Service in Sterling, said Sunday morning.

"It's a preliminary finding that is not finalized," he noted.

The weather service conducted two surveys in Reston and one survey in Lorton.

The National Weather Service reports that the windows of 29 vehicles were blown out at the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) station parking lot Saturday at about 3:49 p.m. as the storm blew through, on the northeast side of the lot. Several trees near the parking lot, 8 to 12 inches in diameter, were also blown down.

In Arlington the National Weather Service reported a tree 3 feet in diameter was down near Reagan National Airport.

In Loudoun County, a NWS employee reported a tree 1 foot in diameter was reported down at Hatcher Avenue.
