Gunshots in west springfield

At 4:39 am this morning in Cardinal Forest condo area, a man screamed. Several minutes later, the man was yelling. At 4:50, I heard possible gunshots in quick succession and called police. The operator asked if the noise may have come from Rexford drive leading me to believe someone else was calling it in at the same time. After getting off the phone, I continued to hear more noises, such as shouting and possibly more gunshots, but much farther away. Does anyone know what happened?

Someone in the neighborhood has some high class fireworks they set off every now and then. I don't recall them doing it as late as 4:30/5 in the morning though.

The weekly crime report doesn't show anything major happening, however the latest crime on the sheet was on the 22nd so perhaps they didn't put 23rd on there. They have reports of the 16th on this week, but not on last weeks sheet which was the 17th.

Perhaps we'll find out next week.

I am going to wildly speculate that perhaps this incident involves the same "street toughs" that caused a problem at the public pool, in which another thread was made about it few weeks ago. Someone in this neighborhood is real hard, watch out.
