Obviously VDOT doesn't know about every tree, but hey they pruned it (said so on the news). Also on the news, they interviewed locals who said they had complained about the tree before. I think one of those is the videos in this thread, but I could be wrong. Certainly did see it on the news though.

I'm not talking about life insurance.
My auto policy includes an accidental death benefit. Doesn't yours?
@vdot-I have some thru my job and thru my savings accts as well. I think my credit card kicks some in as well I'll have to check that.
@Ivy-well, I havent passed the Bar or nothing, but I do know you are going to have to show a judge more than a news report of some guy saying he called about it if you want to show actual neglect on vdot's part.

Where's the family? I'd like to trot them out to support my tree-control initiative. Tragedies like this can only be prevented by taking trees away from everyone who lives near a road.
Ya know, if I gotta go while driving the car, I'd rather it be by a huge old tree than by some ass-wipe talking on their cell phone and blowing through a red light. You don't usually get to choose when or how, though. RIP to the guy and the tree.
