Thank you in advance for the "Fairfax sucks" responses. But I'd really like to know what people think the best places are around Fairfax to get some drinks and maybe light food in the summer. Somewhere decent, not like Prime Time Sports Bar.

FFX Co. is packed full of yuppies who think they are tough and women who think they are hot. Fairfax sucks.

This may not be the best, but coastal flats has an outdoor area.

Why would you want to sit outside at some lame ass bar, since Fairfax sucks and that's all there is, when it's 95+ degrees and the weather in Fairfax sucks during the Summer breathing crappy air from all of the traffic which sucks.

Did I mention that Fairfax sucks?

Because summer evenings are what you make of it, i think YOU are the miserable idiot!

Ireland's 4 Provinces in Falls Church is a pretty good time on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (cornhole tournament)

Yeah if route 7 traffic at night (which is mostly 18 wheelers slamming on their brakes) is your bag, than yeah 4 P's is the place to go.

I prefer PJ Skidoo's if I'm going to be drinking outdoors. Or Greveys.

Yeah, cause the atmosphere of Gallows and Rt. 50 is much nicer. lol

Face it, this place is a wasteland. Any other town would have a decent place on the river or somewhere to go other then a frickin strip mall with a view of the parking lot next to the CVS.

It's not much better but it's way further off the road from the 4 P's. Food's also better.

Clare and Dons Beach Shack in Falls Church is awesome. Patio bar and live music. We love it. 4.00 margarita's.

While I agree that options are limited, these are the outdoor bars that I can think of:

Coastal Flats - FFX Corner
Backyard Grille, Centerville
Kilroys, Sprinfield
Uno's and Sweetwater (near Gallows Rd)

Someone needs to open a really cool bar in Fairfax. It must have live music, great drinks, cool atmosphere and great food.

I know I am in fantasy land but I can still dream.

PD Do not ask me to open a bar. I have no desire to work that hard plus I love my job.

This area pretty much sucks for 'patio' drinking. Now on the other hand, if you wanna talk rooftops.......

John's Place has a lovely deck on top with lots of twinkly lights and Prez Prado on the jukebox


just right around the corner from Prime Time. whats wrong with its outside seating? is it the lovely view?

Tain't Fairfax, but pretty close...Indigo Landing off the GW Parkway (towards Alexandria, just past Reagan Airport) is pretty cool...good scenery, usually not too crowded...

I hate to say it, but Georgetown. Full of rich douches but the scenery can't be beat.

Here in FFx, all the ones I was going to name have been said. It's true, you will be looking at a wall or another building.

I would try Old Town Alexandria, Clarendon, Old Town Herndon, Shirlington or even Occoquan.

The best place for outdoor cocktails is MY DECK. The beer is cold, there's always a seat and the view is relaxing. I don't have to pay $8/beer, deal with those crazy crowds, and just can be left alone.
