New Connection article where Hyland [D-Mount Vernon] and McKay [D-Lee] say that the real estate taxes must rise next year to support the budget. Also might try a meals tax to get money for schools. This year they raised residential taxes by 3 cents and commercial 11.

Hyland:
"It has been a balancing act to keep the quality of life our residents have come to expect and cut the present budget," Hyland said.
