Good honest A/C repair

My a/c isn't exactly working. Any recommendations for a good repair company?

We use Shanahan's and think they are reputable and fair.

MR stride is a straight up company. They are probably backed up a week or more right now but they are worth the wait. Call one of those huge companies and they will be at your front door in no time, ready to screw you.

I've used Shaw Services twice and have been pleased. Like most companies, they have those semi annual maintenance contract but you could skip it. I'll bet they are booked up though.

I highly recommend McCarthy Services. They do it all (HVAC/plumbing) and do it fairly as well as professionally.

I just had mine repaired by PREFERRED HEATING AND AC. They were fantastic , honest, and comitted.

I second MR Stride, I have used them for 15+ years for home and rental properties, they are honest,fairly priced and stand behind their work, the business is built on repeat customers not ads and volume.

Every HVAC company is probably running a work order backlog with recent heat. Have used Mannix Heating and Cooling past two years and now have a service contract. Great customer service and nice people.

No question. Flat rate pricing, you know exactly what you are paying upfront. I have never had a problem with them EVER.

They are a new company. A guy named Bob works there. He is good, not sure about the other employees, they are from ARS.

Recommend HVAC Unlimited as they're very professional, do great work and charge reasonable prices. Our outside unit stopped working due to a switch failure. As it's an older unit, they could have easily told us our only option was to replace it and we wouldn't have known any different.

Whatever you do, be sure that the company knows how to service your line of A/C. Some say they service all, but they may carry parts for certain brands and have to order them for others...

McCarthy's - Dan McCarthy sold the company last year and since he's not there to oversee things, it's gone downhill in a major way. Prices are up, quality is way down. A big corporation bought it.

HVAC Unlimited - look at Angie's list if you're a member. WOW is all i can say there.

For honesty and a fair deal i like M.E. Flow. they have offices in Alexandria and Leesburg so they work in every county in the northern virginia area. Make sure you ask for an experienced technician.
