Genghis Grill - Is this a decent Mongolian barbecue?

What's the deal with this place in Sprngfield/Franconia on Beulah?

Is it actually run by Chinese and are the chefs Chinese? Or is this some sort of crappy place run by Messkins?

Is it decent?

What's the price? And do they make you pay for each bowl that you have? I heard something about that which is not the standard for these sorts of places.

What? You post at 9:30 on a Sunday morning and expect a dozen responses in an hour-and-a-half?

Toolbag.

In answer to your question, I have not been myself but those friends who have gone have told me "yeah, it was fine". That's all you get.

The yelp reviews are all over the place for the once in Franconia as well as the one in Chantilly. Franconia seems to be better all around, but not by much. I look forward to going but it'll be hard to top bd's in Bethesda.

I've eaten at the one in Chantilly 5-6 times, and haven't had a bad experience yet.

It's OK - I like that they give you recipes for different stir frys when you pick the ingredients out.

Decent but not outstanding - this is my opinion of the one in Manchester Lakes.

It isn't bad, it isn't great. Not a bad place to take out-of-town guests. The novelty of the banging gong and antics of those Mongolian/Mexican cooks will amuse some.

Jesus you have a lot of questions. Why do you care who cooks the food? Do you go in the kitchen in all restaurants you eat at and say "Oh, they have Mexican's in the kitchen, I'm not eating here."

Because when I am out for fake Mongolian cuisine, I at least want an oriental doing the cooking.

And Messkins are filthy and do shoddy work, too. They work hard at whatever they do, I'll give them that... it's just that they also suck at whatever they do.

Wow. If this is what you think about how Mexicans cook then whatever you do don't go to amazon and pick up Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. You may never eat at a high-end restaurant again.

You ever eat at high end restaurants in this area?

Who staffs the kitchens? Wetbacks, that's who.

So, it's not surprising.
