And just about every other FCPS school is higher, probably. And then theres TJHSST which shits on everybody. But they're basically a private school anyway

George Mason HS is #30 which is a Falls Church City School

Then right accross the street

George C. Marshall is #51 which is the top FCPS school excluding TJ; no one can really count TJ who hand picks their kids though when comparing public high schools.

Freedom in South Riding was ranked #181 last year. It wasn't even ranked this year. What gives?

Below are the schools from the NOVA area that were ranked in US&WR 2012:

2 Thomas Jefferson
19 George Mason
55 George C. Marshall
85 Mclean
88 Robinson
98 Langley
122 W.T. Woodson
129 James Madison
165 Oakton
178 Stone Bridge
193 Lake Braddock
207 West Springfield
249 Fairfax
294 Chantilly
305 Westfield
532 Falls Church
545 Osbourn Park

The methodology of these rankings will need to be reviewed because the number of FCPS high schools left off this list is strange and seemingly arbitrary.

Wasn't Centreville HS #100 just a year or two ago?

Absolutely meaningless rankings based on a random-number generator. Marshall is ghetto.

Looks right to me based on test scores and ib and ap. marshall has dramatically changed in the last 5 years due to the high income people living in that area not wanting to live in bfe.

You mad?

Was prostitution, heroine, and Suicide taken into consideration when making the rankings? If so, Westfield should have ranked higher.

Fairfaxunderground rules: Lilliputions, not ok. Midgettville ok. I got it now.

Marshall and Robinson???

Man Oakton dropped like a rock!

It's sad commentary on the american education system that Westfield ranks 305.

The methodology behind the rankings smells to high heaven, IMHO.

Mr. Matthews and the Washington Post just came out with their flawed national HS ranking again (the Challenge Index).

http://apps.washingtonpost.com/local/highschoolchallenge/schools/2012/list/national/

And Newsweek released their bizarre listing as well.
