Jiffy Lube Live Pat Downs
Posted by: Henry Schnieder ()

Hey,
So I'm planning on going to a few Jiffy Lube Live concerts over the summer (not the most renowned place, I know, but what are you gonna do). I'd heard that they perform pat-downs on costumers entering the facility. Is this true? If so, is it like airport level pat-down?
Thanks,
A Haphephobic

Nissan does preform pat-downs, just like going to a Redskins game. Under/over the arms, up and down the legs, and inside your hat(if wearing one).

I, for one, am thankful that JLL performs pat-downs on "costumers"--you never know what they might be packing umder their costumes!

Well, that was an unfortunate spelling mistake...

Also, what is their policy on things you can bring inside? Could you bring in, like, a backpack or a purse?

What are you going to try to smuggle in?

One more reason I don't attend many concerts. First they get you with the stupid Ticketmaster fees that are impossible to avoid. Then they charge each ticket for parking (I guess they assume every attendee brings a car?). Then you get to empty your pockets and be pat down when you are trying to get in. All to drink $11 beers and listen to music.

At least you can tailgate again right?

Went to Rush last year and didn't get patted down. Not saying I don't because i worked out there the first season it was open and they did that then.

As far as backpack pr purse, I wouldn't plan on taking anything in with you. It should tell you on their website what is and what isn't allowed.

Um, unless things changed, I heard they now ban tailgating. Seems some dumbass got himself hit so they shut it down. Apparently James Taylor refused to play there because they banned tailgating. Maybe things have changed, I know can no longer stand going to concerts for pretty much every reason list on this thread, and then some.

They allow tailgaiting again. I went to Iron Maiden last year and didn't get patted down. Went to Rush the year before and didn't get patted down. If you going not looking all banged up, then the less likely they will pat you down IMHO.

True, true, true, and yep even tailgating is no longer allowed. Fuck that.

Have not been since they banned tail gating. Prior to that the "rules" were set based upon what band was playing and what type of crowd the bands had. I went to a wide range of concerts there and had a lot of fun. I saw everything from full parties in the parking lot and being able to take blankets, small unopened water bottles, and such in which out ever being searched. Other times the PWCO cops were full fledged ass holes and nothing was allowed. For that concert as soon as we pulled in and stepped from the car we were told to go in or leave. We were two hours early and it was hot as hell, no shade. We did not go in right away and ten minutes later the cops were back telling us to go in or get charged with trespassing..what the fuck? We get to the gate and nothing was allowed to be brought in. No blankets to sit on and no water bottles. We were full on searched at the gate. Inside they would not sell anything that was not in a cup. Only small water bottles were sold and all had to be opened and they kept the caps. We were pissed off by how we were being treated in general. We finally asked what the story was. It was explained to us that the crowd had "issues" the year before when the same band was there. They claimed some people in the crowd had started throwing stuff and people got hurt. OK, that explained the "no container" policy inside but not how big of ass holes the cops were being out in the parking lot. Ever other time the cops had been cool as long as we were not being stupid and had our drinks in cups. I guess they just did not like the band or something.

It is ridiculous. The only way they'll relax is if it hurts ticket sales, and maybe not even then... if they blame it on something else.

Just stop going. What else can you do?

Whoever says they stopped tailgating forgot to tell the thousands there yesterday. I didnt see anyone breaking down the grills or drinking.

They didn't let us bring blankets in a few years back for Korn because the last time Korn was there, a bunch of nudnicks set some on fire.

My friend and I went to a concert here last summer. He was patted down; I wasn't. I'm not sure how they do it. He may have just looked a bit sketchier.

The Jimmy Buffet concerts used to be anything goes. We actually asked a cop why that was and his response was...."We can't arrest everyone".

I don't know what it's like there now, havent been in 2 or 3 years and have no intention of going there ever again. They treat you like shit and rip you off every chance they get.

I wont go to a God damn Jiffy Lube either!

I don't think permits are on a contraband list pretty much any where.

You can bring your learner's permit too.

Last evening I went to see a concert and I was filming the entrace as I did (I'd heard rumor they were doing this). The woman doing the pat downs did not want to touch me under that condition - nor would I have allowed it. This shows that they know they do not have the right to do this.

I will never set foot in this place again. If they have no regard for the Fourth Ammendment then they will never get another cent from me. EVER!!!

They will only get away with this for as long as WE permit it. And don't kidd yourself that you're safer under this policy. You are not. Remeber what Benjamin Franklin said: "Those who trade liberty for security have neither."

I am only calling you stupid instead of calling you a fucking dumb ass.

The fourth amendment only applies to the government. Jiffy Lube Live is private property. If you don not want to be searched then you have that right. But they also have the right to say that you can not come in.

Libertarians like JPaul are fucking retards. They LOVE to quote the Constitution, yet they don't actually know what's in it. Classic.
