Local Benefit Concert

Hey everybody!

After 3.5 successful years supporting Charity Music, I am incredibly grateful by any and all support from the media we have received over the years. Without help from newspapers, online videos, and other forms of spreading the word, we would not have had such great turnouts at the shows or had nearly as many donations to a GREAT organization.

I am the co-founder of an annual benefit concert called "SuperDuper!" that donates 100% of its profits to Charity Music, an instrument donation program that gives instruments to children in need. Charity Music Inc is a nonprofit outside of Detroit that has had a huge impact on their community. Sometimes with this county's great school music programs, it can be hard to imagine not being able to play music because one cannot afford an instrument.

This year, the show is June 1st at Frying Pan Park's Visitor Center (2709 West Ox Rd) tickets are $7 at the door. Food and refreshments will be sold. Our bands so far are All Access, Send the City, MADAM Myopia, Andrew Rohlk, and Four Guys and a Piano.
More info can be found here: www.facebook.com/superduperbenefit

In addition to helping the organization, we also do our best to promote local music. Half the show is acoustic, showcasing singer/songwriters and up-and-coming bands, followed by the second half of larger local bands playing with their full rock instrumentation. The design is to have the larger bands draw the crowd so the smaller acts get good exposure and help start their career in music. The local music scene is pretty incredible and we want more people to know about it! We still have more announcements to be made, but the acoustic acts so far are Andrew Rohlk and Four Guys and a Piano. The bands are MADAM Myopia (my band), All Access, and Send the City.

Please mark this on your calendars if you are interested in attending! June 1st, Frying Pan Park, 6-10pm.

The comments inevitably will be rough on this forum, so serious inquries and feedback can be directed towards mark.mbmusic@gmail.com. Local bands can email me as well, even though the concert is mostly full.

Again, more information can be found here!

Thanks!

This is a great event to hear some great bands. It's really great, plus the wonderfully talented Mark is going to make an appearance hopefully not on roller blades, as those cause problems. Anyways you all should go and hear some music and support a great cause.

saw Andrew Rohlk at JMU when he opened up for Ingrid. Snoozefest. Maybe if he has a band it'll be more interesting.

Yeah, Andrew is amazing. He won't have a full band here though; his set is an acoustic one.
