The only connection I see to Fairfax is the fact the franchisee of that Mcdonalds lives in Fairfax, and it doesn't look like he was involved in the employee lottery pool.

More connected to Fairfax than your hillbilly ass...

Read much?

"Then, late Friday, before the night’s drawing, the owner of the McDonald’s, Birul Desai, gave Wilson $5 to buy more tickets for the pool on her way home from work, and she went back to the 7-Eleven and bought them, Allen said."

The article says that she's a Haitian immigrant and single mother of SEVEN! That's right, SEVEN. And before winning the lottery, she was working at McDonalds. It's always so heart-warming to me when another immigrant can come here, leech tax-payer dollars off the system, and then "make it big".

Now that she's rich, I wonder if she'll pay back all the welfare money she's no doubt collected since emigrating here.

Here's a picture of the "winner" who is also trying to screw everyone else in her "office" pool out of their share of the money.

hahaha, GREAT question. The answer is unfortunately an unequivocal NO!

Lol at these dumbfucks who don't know how to cover their own asses. They should have had some sort of signed agreement, with multiple copies in separate locations AND copies of any tickets bought as a pool. Anything else could reasonably be explained as a solo purchase. That being said - I'd out my money on this lady ripping off her "friends". People are inherently greedy.

Edit - the mistake was in the buying of more tickets. It appears that the locked safe with he tickets and list of contributors was smart.

Yup, typical negro bullshit. surprised a Haitian would pull that shit, then again, they will sue and get some of the money, the same thing happened not that long ago and the judge ordered the money split.

Who would trust someone to buy the extra tickets then promise to add them to the pool?

The odds of her paying any welfare money back are exactly the same as the mega millions 176 million to one.

I'm stuck on this. I really don't want her to win because of her selfishness and inability to stop breeding, but then again, if she doesn't win then she'll just continue to sponge off of the welfare system and the "gubmint check", so I'll be back to supporting her and her gaggle of broodlings with my tax dollars.

I don't know how to feel. It's a "catch-22".

She was working, at 7-11, meaning she also paid taxes...not sponging off welfare.

Buy your own tickets. Once you get in with a group to purchase lotto tickets, your already asking for trouble. Once money is involved you see how people really act.

Age, race etc, does not matter. I don't think she actually won anyone, but the truth will eventually come out.

Some of these people playing in pools kill me. I play in a group at work with 10 people. The person that runs it scans the tickets and then emails them out before the drawing.

Problem solved.

Certainly goes a long way to solving The Problem, however the gotcha can be people who are NOT included in the winning circle like that win that happened somewhere up north fairly recently where some schmuck wasn't part of a pool at the time the pool actually won and sued to be included anyway. And that other guy who also wasn't part of the pool, the pool won, and The Media and gajillions of others thought he should be included anyway (I forget the details of this one - maybe the guy was out sick or something that one time).

It's hard to keep the lawsuits away.

One thing I'd encourage is developing a history of pool plays that set the precedents that are going to be followed "when" the pool actually wins. As you noted, make a copy of the pool's tickets and make sure each pool player has a copy. Have one copy be signed by all pool players. Make it clear that money for the pool is collected BEFORE the tickets are bought and no money means no part of the pool for you. Make sure all pool players fully understand that the copied tickets are the ONLY tickets part of the pool and any other tickets bought by any pool player are NOT part of the pool.

And for weird situations like this case - a hard case - I personally would say "No tickets bought for the pool after the original pool purchase".

Interestingly, my wife's pool had EXACTLY the same situation - a whole bunch of tickets bought for the pool, copies made and distributed, list of pool players...and then the person running the pool bought - for an unexplained reason - $5 more of tickets FOR the pool with no copies distributed after work, etc. A perfect setup for Lawsuit City.

Some news reports are saying the lady may not even have the winning ticket.

Must be fun times at that McD's, wouldn't that be funny if she screwed with her coworkers to get some attention and some truck driver is laughing now with the ticket in his hand, waiting until the fun settles to claim it.

If you think someone making minimum wage is not sponging off my tax dollar (what you call the government); you are clearly not honest with yourself. Throw in 7 kids and my fellow taxpayers and myself aren't subsidizing her, we are outright supporting her.

You are clearly not honest with yourself. If you were you would understand that not all of us can be so wonderful that we are earning great salaries. She is working, plain and simple.

My tax dollars support corporations' tax loopholes all of the time, and if you don't get that, than you once again aren't being honest with yourself, Jbass.

And having 7 kids is certainly supported by all of those people who believe we shouldn't allow contraception in health care plans, or abortions...you can't have it both ways. You either understand, the lack of health care options that include contraception means more children, and say how beautiful it is that these kids are here...or you allow your tax dollars to support contraception etc.

Dont go warping a simple direct statement about this very specific situation into an argument about party politics and healthcare reform. Condoms are cheaper than babies, plain and simple. Nice attempt at a red herring, though.

Yes, she works. Great! Most Americans do. Many Americans also abstain from having children until they can support them because they are responsible human beings.

It does not matter even slightly that she is working. She is collecting welfare in one form or another and likely in multiple forms at the same time and that is the topic at hand.

Oh, and dont go acting like Im okay with tax loopholes for big corporations. This thread is just not the place to discuss it. Just because I dont donate money to the SPCA doesnt mean Im okay with kicking puppies.

If you are a minimum wage earner, you are a degenerate, inconsiderate and inhumane person for having 7 goddamn kids.

I completely agree. It should be considered child-abuse to keep popping out children when you have NO CLUE, (or intention?), as to how to support, nurture, care and provide for them. That's why public schools and television have become in situ parental stand-ins for people like this woman who have litters of children with no ability to raise them. I guess she doesn't have to raise them though. She can let the taxpayers pay for their needs, the schools can educate them, and she can spend more time with her "Boo".

I found this hilarious commentary about her on YouTube. (Don't worry, it's not "racist" because it's a Black man making the observations.)

That's how I think it will go down. There's so many conflicting reports of her not having the ticket, all the correct numbers, etc... Dude is probably laughing at this cunt making an ass out of herself. Having known someone who's won before, you don't go around publicly announcing this shit straight out of the gates.

She's had SEVEN KIDS even though she's a single mother working at McDonalds making minimum wage.

Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing. This shit keeps getting better and better, now the ticket is 'hidden' at McDonalds.
