Fairfax County General :  Fairfax Underground fairfax underground logo
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Has Fairfax Underground always been this raunchy?
Posted by: jbs ()
Date: March 31, 2012 09:23PM

"A project site to improve communications between residents of Fairfax County?" - Really?! It seems that at least half the posts are by pre-pubescents and mental midgets that consider this a safe haven to cuss and otherwise assault the audience. Does this really represent the folks that use this site? If so, is there a better NoVA site that actually does 'improve communication?"

City-data has a Northern Virginia message board.

Because it is both an anonymous and largely unmoderated site, Fairfax Underground has always been a draw for certain types of individuals. If you go back to the posts from 2005, you'll see the same type of behavior you see now.

There's nothing new or novel on Fairfax Underground; the shit that goes on here today is the same shit that went on here yesterday and is the same shit that went on 7 years ago.

Only the user names and post dates change on Fairfax Underground.

If you want to participate in a forum that's properly moderated and supervised, I'll second the City-Data Northern Virginia forum, which is at http://www.city-data.com/forum/northern-virginia/

Fairfax Underground is properly moderated and supervised, which is to say it is NOT moderated and supervised. This is the freedom of the Internet that is indeed a reality here. The Internet was never meant to be moderated and supervised. That defeats the entire purpose. Long live the fighters...long live Cary.

Its called freedom of speech. Thank God we have that right, and also for Fairfax Underground being a part of that. Obviously free speech, what is that? Certainly you aren't allowed to yell "fire" in a theater when there isn't one. Yet, places such as this, may or may not have things that I like. In fact, I've disagreed with what others have said, and also have sometimes seen things I don't like.

Turn the channel if you don't like it. That's my advice, and its out of kindness and respect to both our Constitutional freedoms and Fairfax Underground, which I am sure would have our founding fathers happy, and also going "What the fuck?" There has been news found here that the "mainstream media" or others won't cover, and yes there also has been some raunchy and rude comments/pictures. First of all, bring on the porn. Second of all, I don't like it when I see someone tearing apart a family or person who's lost their life at a young age. Yet, that is their right.

Fairfax Underground rocks. This is exactly what the founding fathers would want. Although I don't think Thomas Jefferson would be chilling out, with some of the humor here, many of us will.

Wow! That other site is a major yawnfest. Boring bland and painfully milk toast white. I would rather cut my toenails with a chain saw than read that board.

City-Data NoVA forum is stuck up, pretentious, and clique-y. The bossy control freaks who cannot tolerate anything unflattering mentioned have driven off the more interesting posters. That leaves the guy who always posts about the good ol' days in Annandale and his pop's fortune/land investments, the tedious Loudoun County cheerleader, and the sappy person who pushes Vienna Virginia as the best place to raise a family (but is selling the Vienna home). And the stuck-up City of Alexandria guy.

You got that right. You really can't say anything on that C-D NOVA forum. They have this totally biased dipshit moderator called Tone209 that thinks he/she is God. Says stupid shit like "when I post in red"-----LOOKOUT!

The fucking pipsqueak probably runs the Drive-Thru at Mickey D's in real life, but the moron is Lord of the Manor on that forum.

Fuck him/her and City Data. Long live FFXU!

This site is largely unmoderated which is the greatest plus(and in some instances negative).

There are certain things that Cary will usually moderate:

1. Disinformation-- i.e. posting that school is canceled when its not

2. Crap flooding--making lots of spammy posts to derail threads or drown out content that a particular user does not want posted

3. Outings---sometimes Cary will delete personal info for users who have been "outed"

4. Moving threads to "off-topic" that don't belong in "Fairfax general".

Just checked out the city data site. And yes, they enforce a strict political correctness like good little socialist nazis there.

+1

Most people are full of $hit when they say they believe in freedom (of speech or anything else). What they _really_ believe in is *their* freedom.

Fairfax Underground is the real deal - frequently raunchy, tasteless, stupid, dangerous and important. And almost always entertaining.

I didn't say I loved marrying them. Jewesses love to suck. Maybe it's just you and your wife.

I love their furry animalistic hindquarters. They will do anything.
