Pat was a lovely young man who always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. His family is equally as lovely as he was. First of all, thank you for having the guts, the courage to stand up for the senseless tragedy of a young man gone to God far too early. We all never know our day, or why until then, but I am glad that Pat had a positive impact on you and so many apparently. I agree completely with Maggie too, its a shame people make immature comments. If their best friend or a family member whom they loved so much, had this happen, they'd have a new set of eyes into these matters.

Your anger is understandable. These people are sadly not realizing the value of life and also the legacy of Pat, I wish I could have met this young man and spent time with him. From all accounts, he sounds like he had kindness in his heart, which these immature posters who don't put their name next to, don't have. I hope that your anger will eventually turn to realizing the sadness these people have in their lives, and that while understandable, that they aren't worth it, as their character sucks and they don't have balls. God bless you, all who knew Pat, and most importantly his family at this most difficult of times. As a parent of a Chantilly grad who has had issues with drug and alcohol addiction, those who have made such venomous, misinformed statements about this tragedy have simply not lived long enough. Life for teens and young adults is no picnic these days. Granted growing-up in the upper-middle class environment of Fairfax county might be a blessing compared to other settings. But how can one forget the struggles with personal identity, potential self-doubts, acceptance issues, a poor economic outlook that young people must face these days.
Possibly those who have written such ugly things about Pat Dease are too misinformed, innocent, scared to admit that they and their families might suffer similar fates. Think about the bigger scope Think of people's frailities. Think of compassion. Think of a world bigger than yourself.
Yes Blam and others, in the end we will all be worm food-but hopefuly we will be remembered by friends and family not by the way we died but by how we survived this world.
