I'd love to have taken a pic of this object, but I was too busy safely maneuvering my vehicle at around 50 m.p.h. to grab my cell phone and fumble to open the camera App. I don't generally have my camera at the ready in case a 10 second paranormal activity takes place.

It was shaped like a massive washer without the hole in the center. It was hovering on the right of 7100 south bound, but when I looked in my rearview after passing it, it crossed over 7100 heading east and a very low rate of speed and had a massive bank of lights flashing at that point. It seemed like it was directly over the soccer field, so I'm surprised no one has mentioned it by now.

I have visually witnessed, in the physical, several life forms, intelligent life forms, aboard this great mother ship...And things of this nature.

I missed to UFO cause I was having a conversation with BigFoot!

I missed it due to wearing a hoodie and eating skittles

Not to worry, an APB has gone out for the alien perps. Be on the lookout for this suspect. He may or may not occupy the areas of low income housing in the county...

Regarding above posts about the aliens scanning for illegals in the Netherlands of Fairfax County: They are looking for illegals that have already or soon will turn legal so they can take over their physical bodies and make lots of anchor babies together. That is the fastest, most secretive no-risk and by far the best best way to get unquestioned legal citizenship anywhere nowadays, no? "Today Centerville--Tomorrow the World" is their Motto!!! Well, good sir, a Disk could have a lot of different shape associations. With the imagery of a "washer" there is but one shape to associate it to. Before the recent revisions, the document -- Air Force Instruction 10-206 -- advised pilots, radar operators and other Air Force personnel on what to do when they encountered any unknown airborne objects. Now in the 2011 version, the reference to UFOs -- which simply means "unidentified flying objects," not necessarily spaceships with little green men -- has been eliminated.

What makes this so intriguing is that the U.S. government officially stopped investigating UFOs in 1969 with the termination of the Air Force's Project Blue Book.

Of course, most UFOs are eventually explained as something far less extraordinary than little green -- or grey -- men.

"When I talk about UFOs, it is literally an unidentified flying object, not an extraterrestrial," said John Cornelio, chief of media relations at NORAD headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. "There is a blip on the radar, and we don't know what it is. And we're responsible for identifying what that object is. We know it's an aircraft of some sort, but we don't know who it is, and so have to go up and identify it."

But here's the big question: Did the Air Force really stop investigating UFOs in 1969 as they have repeatedly claimed throughout the ensuing decades?

"Absolutely not! They have continued to look into UFO cases," said Salas, co-author of "Faded Giant." "In fact, there are NORAD records from 1975 of UFO sightings -- and this was not any general aviation aircraft -- objects seen over missile sites and other bases.

"They scrambled jets to intercept these UFOs, which clearly operated at speeds that the jets couldn't keep up with, and they were sighted by a lot of people," Salas told HuffPost.
